China has censored footage of the floods in Nepal and Tibet.
Beijing authorities removed footage of the moment people fled before a wall of mud swept through the Gyirong border crossing.
Only a still from the footage appeared in Chinese state media coverage.
The Chinese public has been largely reliant on state media for information, with official reports focusing on rescue efforts while providing little detail about the extent of the destruction.
On Saturday, state media said 554 people were missing on the Chinese side of the border and seven had been confirmed dead.

They also censored the 1976 Tangshan Earthquake, that supposedly killed a million people.
So who knows how many were really killed.
I predict the death toll will rise to the thousands.

This guy has 1.5 million subscribers on Youtube and there he calls himself "Serpentza" (Real name is: Winston Sterzel). I trust his content, and though I cannot say why beyond "it has the ring of truth to it", I believe it is a window most of us don't see.
This guy is well worth watching-he was a South African national who spent 14 years in Communist China teaching English, and knows a great deal about things that China conceals from outsiders. He is now an American citizen.
His insight into Chinese behavior is fascinating, everything from eating habits and dating to construction methods.
In this video above, he discusses what is called the "30 Death Rule".
I have been following this guy for many years now, and I highly recommend this channel.
In this, I would not be in the least bit surprised to have the CCP say 29 Chinese citizens died. We shall see. But even if they never disclose it for whatever stupid reason they may have, I feel certain we won't know the true number.
One of the problems with a state that claims to be all-powerful, all-knowing, and ever-beneficial is that it must maintain the myth of those qualities or fall.
They can’t admit the messed-up.
They are an “Asian Shame Culture”.

He’s got a good perspective. There are a lot of YouTubers that fall into either the “China’s great and gives everyone cake!” or “China’s the greatest Evil since Evil was invented!” He’s not, at least in my opinion, anti-China. He just points out where the PRC government prevaricates and controls certain types of information.
I agree. That said, my tagline says how I feel about the CCP, and I don't extend that to the Chinese population in general, though like any country that big, they have plenty of their own bad apples.
I like his style. He doesn't rant, and even when he points out weird behavior in the citizenry, I get the distinct impression that he likes many of the Chinese he has met, and understands why their role in a Communist surveillance state is as odd to Westerners is as it currently is.
CGTN has coverage via reporters, and video. Are you saying CGTN is blocked in China?
CGTN has a live right now

Where are the reports of 600 dead originating?
CCP censors everything.
Here is another one. Though I disagree with some of her analysis. I’m not much into “Reading between the lines.” At times, she comes across as having an ax to grind.

100% they caused this. Those commie pigs have been effing around there trying to find energy for years. China needs energy. China has 1/1000 of the energy the US has. They are laughable as an adversary. Annoying that they can easily buy losers like Swalwell and Canada.
