just pure coincidence..these names are chosen years in advance. Still kind of strange.
That prediction is apparently fizzling out.
Our first major hurricane with some real cleavage!
I will always level you.
looks like DOLLY is not gonna do much, despite being in the prime area for getting stronger. In fact, looks like shes gonna lose her “tropical classification”.
That's because there are no coincidences.
However, up thread Janet asked,
"Will hit on 9-5?"
What a way to make a livin'
Barely gettin' by
It's all takin' and no givin'...
The National Hurricane Center gives the system a near-zero chance of redevelopment over the next 48 hours and a low, 20% chance through the next seven days.
For South Florida, Dolly’s remnants bear watching because they could help reinforce an already wet pattern later this week.
It is too soon to determine exactly how close the moisture, and any associated disturbance may get, but residents should stay tuned for forecast updates.

In the same boat
With a lot of your friends
Waitin' for the day
Your ship'll come in
And the tide's gonna turn
And it's all gonna roll you away
6:40 if we somehow make it to September 12th
6:43 without a single hurricane, this is
6:44 going to be the latest first hurricane
6:46 since 1941. Right now, the hurricane
6:49 center does have these two little areas
6:51 sitting at about 10%. That's the
6:53 leftovers of Dolly out there near the
6:55 islands and another area of showers in
6:57 the Gulf. Neither one of these looks
6:59 particularly impressive right now. And
7:01 one of the big reasons for this quiet
7:03 Atlantic is what's happening in the
7:05 other ocean. When the Pacific Ocean
7:06 heats up like this during El Nino, it...

Pun intended?
“That’s because there are no coincidences.”
Probably right, a bust. Some swells, that’s about all.

Ryan the ginger man was saying that El Niño is responsible for it being all quiet on the eastern front.
("The original phrase, El Niño de Navidad, arose centuries ago, when Peruvian fishermen named the weather phenomenon after the newborn Christ." ~ Wiki)
But he added:
7:43 Gulf Coast uh in the Carolinas before
7:45 anybody gets too comfortable. In 1992,
7:47 there wasn't a named storm until August
7:50 17th. And that storm was Hurricane
7:52 Andrew. So, hurricane season is not
7:54 over. And we shouldn't be relaxing.
He was even promoting Zocdoc while he was at it -- as if he knows that everyone is gonna need a healing and won't be able to wait months for an appointment.
Not like we were warned way back at Christmastime in 1970!
