America’s Comeback - The U.S. government is working at full speed to reindustrialize the country.

The U.S. government is working at full speed to reindustrialize the country. With tax cuts, deregulation, and hard-nosed tariff policy, German companies are also being persuaded to engage in the United States. And when persuasion is not enough, U.S. investors go shopping.

For the left and the German media mainstream, Elon Musk is the proverbial “Lord, help us.” An entrepreneur who takes a political stand. For many Germans, the free world ends right there, especially since the voices of entrepreneurs have largely disappeared from public view as soon as things become politically uncomfortable.

Despite all the disputes, Elon Musk still stands firmly behind U.S. President Donald Trump, another persona non grata in the German public sphere. Trump is pursuing perhaps the most aggressive form of reindustrialization policy we have seen since the German economic miracle after the end of the Second World War. With tariffs, deregulation of energy policy, and tax cuts, Trump is getting to work, and the numbers speak for him: Private-sector investment is rising by between 8 and 10 percent year-on-year. The U.S. economy is growing steadily at an annual real rate of 3.5 percent, roughly in line with the increase in labor productivity.

The situation in Germany is different. Here, private-sector investment, after depreciation, slipped into negative territory around the turn of the year. Labor productivity is stagnating or even eroding slightly. In Germany, the economy is now being held together only precariously by the debt hammer and the construction of a domestic war economy. Nothing economically innovative can emerge in such an environment. The consequence is that next year, once the municipal deficit and the special funds are included, the debt burden will rise by more than 5 percent, measured as a share of GDP.

No more outsourcing to China. I am glad that President Trump is stopping transshipment from China through Canada.

Trump can multitask while shining a laser pointer around the room. Some folks can only chase the red dot. The latter don’t matter much.

Trump can do all he wants to bring manufacturing back to the US, but it won't mean anything if we don't seek out and choose American made products.

We have one more chance. Don't blow it.

9.3 million square meters as a square would be 1.89 miles on each side.

Germany’s greatest national treasure is the centuries of scientific and engineering excellence. Now that modern Germany is trying to destroy that treasure, it is wise for us to invite it to America. What a contrast to importing Somalis.

Yep. One way to quickly acquire a lot of the industrial know-how which we have in such short supply too would be to offer some of these German engineers and others jobs in the US to fill our increasing needs in areas like Shipbuilding where we simply can’t find enough qualified workers. I would MUCH rather have Christian Westerners than unqualified and unskilled 3rd worlders who either do not share our values or like muslims who have values that are actively hostile to ours. That would be one way to close the skills gap and boost our reindustrialization.

Germany putting you out of a job due to Gaia Worship and socialism? We don’t have that here and could use your skills......

That will make a lot of difference HOW??? Other than confusing Americans & maybe demoraling a few Canadians, I don’t see where it would have any real worthwhile effect. It would always be Lake Ontario to me since it always has been. What’s the point?

..how about seeking out and chosing American educated and
intelligent workers, engineers, and so forth instead of
letting all these H1B visa holders or whatever they are...
these foreigners will work for two-thirds or a half of
what comparable American workers would get....shameful....

China sells low cost junk. If I buy low cost junk, at least let it be American made low cost junk. Amazon, I am looking at you. :)
