Sophie Cunningham appeared to be the only player who put her hand over her heart during the national anthem prior to the Indiana Fever's game against the New York Liberty on Saturday.
All other players on the Fever stood with their hands behind their backs, as multiple videos and images surfaced on social media, while the Liberty players remained in the locker room during the Star-Spangled Banner.
It is unclear why the Liberty players did not come out to the floor to honor the anthem, nor why Cunningham was the only player to put her hand over her heart. The WNBA headlines have been in recent weeks, as activists have demonstrated outside of games. It comes as an ex-NBA player attempting to join the WNBA outlined his plans to crash Cunningham's game.
Last month, Cunningham revealed her stance that only women-born athletes should play in the WNBA.
She said: "I got a lot of negative feedback about me hating trans. And I’m like, 'I never once said that.' I think that I am here to extend love.

Why watch any women’s sports since they are nowhere near the best of possible achievements. But That’s not actually the measure. The measure is the quality of competition and the product the WNBA puts on the floor is basically crap, proof being it would be very difficult to find a high school top 5-10 boy’s basketball team from any stat that any WNBA team could beat. So the WNBA violates even the *competition* attraction.
As an example currently playing out, Cooper Lutkenhaus, a 17 year old high school 800m runner, is within about 1-2 seconds of the fastest time run for the event EVER AND ~10 seconds faster than any woman has EVER run the event.
But there’s a HUGE difference between the WNBA and the current women’s 800m competition. The quality of competition between Audrey Werro, Keely Hodgkinson and the others close by is among the best and most watchable competition EVER in ANY sporting event. By contrast the WNBA champions and focuses on skin olor and what people do with their private parts in secret over promoting the actual sport.
Even with all that, the ONLY reason ANYBODY even notices the WNBA right now is one WNBA player is conversationally in the same sentence as generational NBA player Steph Curry and the WNBA has and had nothing to do with that fact becoming a reality.
So until the WNBA-LBGT improves its off the shelf product and takes the $10M Boy’s HS BB challenge, the WNBA as an organization only represents socialist societal deconstruction and nothing more.
One more point about the $10M Boy’s BB challenge. $10M isn’t even close to what the PPV gate would yield. Make that a best of 5 (the women couldn’t last 4 games of a bast of 7) at $29.99 to watch. I can’t see how you could possibly *NOT* rake in @$200M.

This $10M Women Pros vs. HS Boys thing really needs to be hammered home as I think that recent WNBA GM’s meeting was a conspiracy to prevent any of their member teams from drafting Ennis Kantor or Royce White. I think if the money is right, the WNBA players will want to risk it.

They’ve tried that at the NFL, college, and amatuer levels. It failed due to the physiological differences between the sexes stemming from genetic and hormonal variations. The men’s game in most sports at the pro level espcially is a very strength and size oriented gamer where imbalances are easily prominent. And that’s what should scare people about allowing the physical competition of men and women as men possess the distict advantages of higher muscle mass, larger heart and lung volumes, thicker bone structure, and higher hemoglobin levels driven by testosterone. Females generally have a higher percentage of body fat, lower basal metabolic rate, and distinct metabolic advantages in endurance exercise of which most high level sports don’t require.
The average adult American man (age 20 and older) is 5 feet 9 inches tall (68.9 inches) and weighs 199 pounds, with a waist size of about 40.6 inches. And that guy is no match for the gladiator tactics used in pro sports by men. So whether you let the average man into the men’s leagues or let the men into the women’s leagues, someone is going to get hammered every night. Way too much physicality.

I wonder what the *right* *money* is for a bunch of second job in Russia and Turkey types making @$150k/yr historically and @$580k this year (and all because of one straight, middle class white girl they despise).
My guess is that *money* is less important to them than the ideological marbles rattling around in their coffee can heads. But then their ideology insists the common denominator of lowest possible shared misery is a far greater value than any elevating shared increasing prosperity.
But as they say, you can’t help loving who you love (even if it is Misery).
