Eric Swalwell’s accusers were left totally in the dark before the disgraced congressman was confronted by federal agents at the airport, according to one of his alleged victim’s attorneys.
Arick Fudali, an attorney for Swalwell accuser Lonna Drewes, said he was surprised to learn of the federal investigation, adding that authorities had not contacted his client during an appearance on NewsNation’s “Jesse Weber Live” Thursday.
“You know, certainly an interesting development,” Fudali told host Jesse Weber. “I was a bit caught off guard because Ms. Drewes has not been contacted by the FBI or anyone from federal law enforcement.”
The comments came after FBI agents confronted Swalwell at San Francisco International Airport and seized his cellphone and other electronics under a federal search warrant. Additional warrants were later carried out at his Washington, D.C., residence, where agents seized other potential evidence.
Fudali said he would have expected Drewes to be among the people federal investigators would want to speak with if the probe involves allegations of sexual misconduct.
“It is odd because Ms. Drewes has been, perhaps, the most public of Mr. Swalwell’s accusers,” Fudali said. “She did a press conference. There were a lot of people there. She spoke about very serious allegations of rape and drugging.”

It probably has to do with the spy thing.
“”””It probably has to do with the spy thing.””””
Yup. I don’t think the FBI deals with state crimes like the women accuse him of.
“It probably has to do with the spy thing.”
Yes. They didn’t contact the rape accuser or her attorney? They were blindsided? It’s not about his sexual escapades...except what he told Fang Fang during Bang Bang.
Do they typically contact everyone before a raid? How many people were contacted before Al Capone was apprehended?
“Fudali said he would have expected Drewes to be among the people federal investigators would want to speak with”
I’m sure that will come in time. Does the guy really think the FBI is going to broadcast their every move to every person involved while building a case? Some things have to be held close to the best for obvious reasons.
Wait, the accusers have an expectation that the FBI tell them when they plan to raid Salwell? That’s a ridiculous expectation.
He’s still good with the California State Bar:

RE: I don’t think the FBI deals with state crimes like the women accuse him of.
What about an underage female crossing state lines for Swalwell’s sexual crimes? Or ones on demand through his procurer? Or using smart phones to set up meetings which he described in advance to the women? Federally licensed phone service contract.
But this chick is saying he had his way with her when she was drunk. That’s a state crime. I have no doubts that this slimeball has done plenty of bad stuff for the FBI to look into.
“Do they typically contact everyone before a raid? How many people were contacted before Al Capone was apprehended?”
As El Rushbo would have said “DITTO”
