Kenvue (NYSE : KVUE) broke its silence Thursday following the death of Hayden Panettiere and mounting backlash over their Neutrogena skincare brand's alleged treatment of the actress, acknowledging that it made her "feel unsupported during a very difficult time."

Miss Panettiere, known for her roles in "Nashville" and "Remember the Titans," died Sunday at 36 after she was found unresponsive and in cardiac arrest at an apartment in Greenville, South Carolina.

Preliminary autopsy results found no signs of trauma that contributed to her death, Fox News Digital previously confirmed.

In the days following her death, fans unearthed comments made by Miss Panettiere, who worked with Neutrogena from 2005 to 2015 (please read comments about the corporate acquisitions between her time with the brand and now with two different corporate changes), in which she claimed the skincare brand cut ties with her after she spoke publicly about her experience with postpartum depression (PPD).

Kenvue statement:

“We are deeply saddened by Hayden Panettiere’s passing.

For more than a decade, Hayden was a valued member of our Neutrogena community. We are proud to have partnered with her and understand that we made her feel unsupported during a very difficult time. This is not what Neutrogena stands for or who we want to be.”

With due respect to Hayden Panettiere, it always amazes me that these “backlashes” occur after the death of a celebrity who has a history of addiction. Her fans look for someone to blame. The same thing happened with Matthew Perry. People turned him into a victim of his doctor and personal assistant. Its not Neutrogena’s job to support Hayden Panettiere. They had a business relationship with her that ended. Frankly, it probably went on longer than it should have because she was in her addiction while she was the spokesperson for the brand. I’m not saying this to crap on Panettiere - her death is a tragedy that says a lot about the massive downside to having a parent that starts a child working as a child actor, and child actors who don’t have career sustainability and have not developed other career options. But these backlashes and scapegoating are misplaced.

How is her death in 2026 anyway the fault of something from 2015? Where was her family and friends if she needed support?

I’m saddened too by every senseless death of someone who gets the gift of fame and fortune and isn’t able to handle it. It is not the fault of Neutrogena. She apparently was depressed before. I think that her death is a result of her being unhappy. Neutrogena was 11 years ago. I don’t make any connections between my life 11 years ago and how I feel right now. My employer of ten years ago would have had every right to fire me if I had not been a productive employee whatever the reason. It’s not like Neutrogena was her only source of income.

Why even make a statement, Neutrogena?

Were you her only means of support/income, her conservator?

Upside-down world.

Neutrogena, which has historically been focused on women, in 2025, they added their first male spokesperson. And he’s a fraud because he participates in sham activities according to the law.

Absolutely agree. Its a nonsensical rationalization to explain this death on the severance of a business deal. This young woman, like so many others, chose to pollute her brain with non prescribed addictive drugs. Her fate is not uncommon for people like her. Sorry but the brain is 90% phospholipid. It is unknown just how those fats churn up there that result in human thinking and ultimate behavior. When you enter chemicals into the milieu that the brain was never designed to incorporate, can’t be too suprised that the aberrant behavior that is now being observed in huge numbers of drug using people is so common.

She had her lips done and a boob job. I don’t know what else. But those are red flags for emotional insecurity at the least

Her family sold her out as a baby to Hollywood pedos.

Any one know why she was in Greenville, SC?

That will be an interesting mystery until some one explains it.

Microsoft AI Copilot...

Her on again-off again boy friend grew up in South Carolina.

They were spending a long week end at an Airbnb rental property.

Initial autopsy shows no indication of trauma.
