Have you seen “Only Angels Have Wings” starring Cary Grant and Jean Arthur?

I think it would fit your parameters. It had some good lines in it IMO and a decent story line.

That reminds me of another light-hearted pick:
Father Goose with Cary Grant. I thought he might not have been well-cast in the kind of role that normally calls for a Humphrey Bogart-type, but it worked just fine. Just a little bit syrupy, not too much.
