Ben Bergquam just did a useful thing: He walked around the actual structures that have been built in Fresno for California’s high-speed rail project, and he showed how useless and incomplete the actual construction is. Screenshot from that linked video:

I laughed out loud, because I stood in that spot, and I did it in mid-August of 2025.

A test of “let’s just go look at the thing itself.”
Read full story Click on that story and go look at the pictures and video. Sample:

The difference between the way this critically important high-speed rail site adjacent to a major Central Valley downtown area looked in August of 2025 and August of 2026 is that in August of 2025 I posted a thing that said there are no fences and you can just go look around, so they slopped up a half-assed fence. Beyond that, in a year, the site looks the same. No work has been done there. No improvements have been made. In 2025, the viaduct opened onto some dirt, not a paved causeway. In 2026, the viaduct opens onto some dirt, not a paved causeway. Zero. Nothing.
You’ve got video and video, from exactly the same place, apples to apples. The comparison is easy. Again, go look at my post from August, 2025. There’s a video there that I shot of the same spot where Bergquam shot video in August, 2026. Go look at how much a year of construction has changed the place.
Using various complex principles of temporal and sequential analysis, we can determine that my visit to this site and Ben Bergquam’s visit to this site happened approximately — hold on, now, this is science — one year apart. Nothing has happened there in the course of that full year. Hey, whaddya want for a few billion clams, baby, and can I interest you in a used car? Slick Gavin’s Greasy Emporium, folks, bring your wallets.
The balls on these people.

It seems it was never meant to be completed. I wonder where all of that money went?
“Frozen In Time: Gavin’s Museum of Grift”. Gavin is using too much hair.
I want the Federal Money back.
When states get Federal money and don’t do the project, there should be a refund to the Treasury. That way other States don’t feel like they are being taxed for ‘Grift’.
That structure is called “California’s Stonehenge” will be sitting there forever - and the high speed rail never built.
What an abomination, and now the idiots in Sacramento are throwing good money after bad to the tune of $1b/year - in perpetuity - and not a single rail has been laid down in 18 years on a system that was supposed to have been up and running in 2020.
Well, Gavin Newsom bought a new $9M dollar home - on his $245,929 salary - so his kids could attend an exclusive private school in the area.
Which connected cronies got the property the state took?
