Florida is now the safest big state in America.
Miami, Orlando and Tampa combined had just 29 murders in the first half of 2026. That’s incredible leadership and police work. Miami had just 8 murders so far in 2026, down 50% from last year. majorcitieschiefs.com/wp-content/upl…

Thank you very much and God bless you,

In 2018, DeSantis beat Andrew Gillum by only .04%.
And one of the first things he did is governor, with fire Brenda Snipes in Broward county, and reform part of Florida's state election system.
If DeSantis had lost in 2018, Gillum would've been the governor in Florida during the COVID plandemic, and this state would be in a very different place right now.
And I don't mean a good place.
Gummers are non-violent plus you got a GOP gov. + a gop legislature. Can DeSantis do that well in DC with the opposition we can see now?
And the amazing part is that Florida has a population mix and immigration profile that could easily make it a non-safe state. This is yet another example of successful Republican governance. Similar to what happened in the New York City Golden Age under Giuliani. And safety sets the stage for economic growth and a vibrant cultural and public life that is family-friendly. I know the GOP seems to have “moved on” to candidates like Vance and Rubio, but I wish Ron DeSantis would run again. He has a great case to make that he turned a purple state deep red and then put policies in place to make it safe and economically successful.
You’re right on all of the above - it was close close close and we were blessed DeSantis won...
Safe in terms of crime yes....in terms of natural occuring events and critters there that can and will kill you, not so much.
Chicago: 253 homicides
Miami + Orlando + Tampa: 29 homicides
Its shocking how one election changed Florida.
And its shocking how a Republican governor can have so much success, and yet so many Republicans hate him just because he ran for President
Yep.
Yup.
There’s less than one death per year in FL via alligator. I’m guessing you mean mosquitos?
Scott was great too.
They’ve been deporting democrats
Two executions in one day!
The low murder rate in Florida is just a coincidence, I'm sure.
Florida is the lightning strike state capital of the US......there are sharks, alligators, water moccasins, rattle snakes, sinkholes, ocean rip currents, mosquitoes, hurricanes and the tornadoes that hurricanes spawn, malaria and the latest....leprosy.
It ain’t all daiquiri and sunsets down there
Too bad my left wing nut job sister in law and brother in law from Maine live there part time and are registered to vote in Fl.
