Former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg has donated $1.25 million to a campaign working to defeat a November pro-life ballot measure that would restore Missouri’s protections for unborn babies and reinstate limits on abortion.
The contribution went to Stop the Ban, the PAC opposing Amendment 3.
The group reported the donation Wednesday to the Missouri Ethics Commission and has now raised more than $6.5 million. Bloomberg previously gave $1 million in 2024 to Missourians for Constitutional Freedom, which successfully pushed the amendment that overturned the state’s laws protecting babies.
Amendment 3, placed on the November 3 ballot by state lawmakers, would repeal the 2024 constitutional change and ban abortions except in cases of medical emergency or pregnancies resulting from rape or incest in the first 12 weeks.
It would also constitutionally prohibit so-called sex change procedures on minors.
Pro-life advocates say the measure is needed to again protect unborn children and ensure safety standards for women after the 2024 amendment led to killing babies again.
“I urge every Missourian to vote on November 5 in favor of Amendment 3: Prohibit Abortion and Gender Transition Procedures for Minors,” said Troy Newman, president of Operation Rescue. “Make Missouri abortion-free again!”
Newman has argued that recent court rulings removing safety regulations endanger women and babies by allowing abortion companies to operate without adequate oversight.
Susan Klein, executive director of Missouri Right to Life, said the amendment “will restore protection for women, children and babies in regards to abortion. Parental rights will be restored. Health and Safety for women will be restored.”
Missouri Right to Life PAC has spent about $230,000 supporting the measure through yard signs, speaking events and “Make Missouri Pro-Life Again” materials.
The leading PAC backing Amendment 3, Her Health, Her Future, has raised just over $1 million. It is supported by Gov. Mike Kehoe and First Lady Claudia Kehoe, who serves as the group’s treasurer.
Missouri had some of the strongest pro-life laws in the nation before the U.S. Supreme Court’s 2022 Dobbs decision triggered a near-total ban. In 2024, voters narrowly approved an amendment guaranteeing abortion, with about 52% support and millions of dollars spent on pro-abortion ads making false claims.
Pro-abortion groups spent more than $31.5 million that year, far outpacing pro-life efforts.

Obviously, females under age 18 have various degrees of difficulty in obtaining and using contraception.
Why wait until a child has been conceived before actively trying to prevent its birth?
Everything about liberalism is self at the expense of another.
Majority of women who seek an abortion were not on contraception in the first place. Abortion is their contraception.
Said in 10 words or less, very good.
I don’t know how old this guy is, but as one gets older, they usually get wiser, or I should better say, they become more aware of dying.
You would think that he wouldn’t rock the boat at this point in his life.
Hey, Mike, you couldn’t think of a better place for your money?
And to think this guy was at one time a presidential hopeful?
OTOH, if you don’t believe in God in the first place, then it doesn’t matter.
Perhaps other people on this forum who are Jewish can tell me why are there so many New York Jews athiests?
This Amendment will NOT make Missouri abortion free! There are provisions in the Amendment that allow abortion. The messaging on this is crucial. There are exceptions. The exceptions were put in place to more or less please “the will of the people”. The majority that voted for the last Amendment 3 did not even know what was in it. The majority wound up voting in full access to abortion! That is not what we would call a Missouri value. We are about to be inundated with false advertising again for the next 88 days! Thanks Bloomberg! /s
Why are men so concerned about women having an abortion? People act like it’s wrong to allow women to live with the choices they make.
Why are these Demons in human form, so eager to end the lives of unborn children?
“Why are men so concerned about women having an abortion? “
More men than women are pro abortion. Abortion allows men to shirk the responsibility of being a father and provider. Free sex with no consequences.
Exactly.
It’s not rocket science.
Oh, maybe it’s because many of us believe that abortion is wrong & that is what God’s word teaches us.
“Kill it” was his response to a former employee when she told him she was pregnant with his child. What a guy.
Yes it’s what liberals call honor if it ain’t bad it ain’t good.
