Yesterday, the President signed new Executive Orders expanding the definition of who is excluded from Birthright Citizenship. While there is an absolute likelihood that all those really smart attorneys and other people in the Executive branch came up with the updated policies independent of anything I floated here, in the blogosphere, and through indirect channels, I will take it as a win. Even if independently arrived at by others, the ideas floated here definitely appear to have been ground into the sausage making process of the new policies.
Never underestimate the impact of Free Republic on national debates! -- Back in 2008, when I was a completely unknown congressional candidate running against one of the most corrupt and powerful congressmen in US history and did not even know what FreeRepublic was, it was a Freeper (Hope you are still out there and in good health, Rusty!) who elevated my campaign on this forum and got the attention of Michelle Malkin and other members of the national press, enabling my campaign to give John Murtha a run for his money. Ditto. I was “setting type” via newfangled word processing in the mid-’70s (Wang, IBM MTST/Composer) so proportional spacing, superscripts, etc. made perfect sense.
The day Rush first covered it I was sitting outside Kaiser Permanente in Woodland Hills, CA, shouting, “Yes!”

One of my memories is the Columbia Shuttle disaster. Woke up and checked FR to see the news.
I then check a bunch of TV News stations. It was at least 30 minutes before the rest of America found out.

This nation badly needs something. Something that has the opportunity to return America to Americans and remove it from ‘deep state corruptocrats’ that control the nation.
“Balanced Budget Amendment” The United States House of Representatives and the Senate must pass a budget that does not provide for spending greater than the last years tax proceeds collected by the Federal Government. This will apply unless a Congressional ‘War’ declaration occurs. These include any emergency resolutions or extended resolutions.
1. Failure to do so disqualifies all members of Congress from the ability to run for another Federal Government seat in either the House or the Senate for life. Lifetime Term limit.
2. All Government health care, pensions, and family benefits are null and void for any member of Congress, and any of the staff, who is actively involved in an event of budget exceeding revenue.
Once you get this, Congress will become a serious thing again. People will have to elect serious people to Congress to discuss important resolutions and ‘Spending Socialists’ will evaporate faster than money in a Minnesota ‘learing center’.

What does Hamas's assault against Israel on 10/07/2023 (which at least one Freeper on this website thinks Israel intentionally let happen so they could have a greater casus belli, so take that for what it's worth) have to do with our current conflict with Iran? That's a complete non sequitur.
People who use that expression must not have sisters, mothers, daughters, children.... etc.
And this is a nonsensical appeal to emotion.
