Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis responded to insults from Dr. Anthony Fauci written during the pandemic, calling them "badges of honor" in an appearance Monday on FOX News.
In his 'diaries' from August 2021, Fauci wrote: "Besides being a total jerk, he is causing people to die in his home state.” Four days later: “Governor DeSantis is a complete disgrace."
"I think those are badges of honor, to have him attacking me," DeSantis said. "The diaries, I think, really validate what I saw early on. This is a guy who was drinking his own Kool-Aid. He was venerated by the media."
I think he liked the fact that he had a lot of this informal power when he was issuing these recommendations and telling governors and mayors to do some of the draconian things that were done," he said. "It had a really negative effect on a lot of societies throughout this country."
"We don’t want to 'Fauci' Florida. A Fauci city or state basically was a dystopia where you had businesses reeling, people’s liberties curtailed and kids left on the sidelines, unable to access education."

He was also doing it publicly, Bill. I remember early in COVID, I did an order to mandate that schools be open. He was attacking us. He would come down to Florida and do hits on local news saying that we were doing it wrong.
He wanted to impose mandates on people at the local level. I blocked those governments from doing it.
You remember he would attack Florida for having our beaches open, for example, or Memorial Day parties that people were doing. That’s what happens. People enjoy the scenery.

Some people who wear masks are suffering from respiratory illnesses, cancers or other diseases. I tend to give people the benefit of the doubt.
Masking up while driving is a little extreme, however.

I hope that the younger people I’ve been noticing that are wearing masks have a *legitimate* reason because of their health. I think that’s not what’s going on, though. Not for most of those who I notice. They appear to be young and healthy, not pale, not coughing, no health symptoms that I notice. Perhaps they have the invisible cancer, and I hope they don’t.
I hope and pray they aren’t brainwashed beyond fixing.
DeSantis is wonderfully smart. Sounds more presidential every day.
I like J.D. too but don’t think he’s as confident as RDS.
During the height of the rhetoric from Fascist Fear Fuhrer Fauci, I witnessed two hilarious examples of masks and sheeple. One was a very high-end convertible sports car, with the top down, and the only person in the car was the driver. Yes, he had his mask on.
The other was a bicyclist moving along at quite a clip, with his mask on.
and a big shout out to Ron’s, surgeon general, Dr. Ladapo. he got it right early too.
I remember visiting relatives in Florida for Christmas 2020. I’m sure buried by area, but at least in Sarasota County, places like Walmart and national chains, for the most part had a mask mandate sign on the door, but it wasn’t necessarily enforced all that well. Pretty much every local restaurant, store, bar, etc. Was just operating as normal.
I was visiting from Connecticut, and back home, couldn’t even think of sitting at a bar, but meanwhile was at a full bar, full restaurant having a normal time. Strangely, never got Covid, never got sick. Just like the flu, unless you had some severely weakened immune system, or we’re very elderly, and in the nursing home, covid wasn’t an issue for you.
THOSE WERE MY FAVORITES.
