In November, the suburbs of New York City will be the pivotal arena for whether the Democratic Socialists of America cement their takeover of the entire state from their New York City stronghold. The decisive issue is not crime, deteriorating quality of life, or high taxes, but one that is arousing significant suburban anxiety: the DSA’s vendetta against the American Dream of homeownership.
Residents of Westchester and Nassau counties, which abut the northern Bronx and eastern Queens, and of whom 80% own their homes, are watching with increasing unease Mayor Zohran Mamdani’s mounting attacks on the city’s homeowners, and logically assuming that they are next.
Despite Westchester County’s nearly 3-1 Democrat voter registration advantage over Republicans and a 15% advantage in Nassau, the DSA’s Marxist belief that property ownership is evil may elect a Republican governor for the first time in more than 20 years. The electoral math is such that if Republican challenger Bruce Blakeman can earn a five-point swing in the metro area over Republican Lee Zeldin’s statewide 6% loss to Democrat Kathy Hochul in 2022, he clinches a Republican victory. Some political analysts believe that Zeldin lost because he failed to focus more on the threats to single-family housing.
Blakeman is the popular County Executive of Nassau, winning re-election in 2025 by 55%-45%; in contrast, Kathy Hochul’s favorability rating, according to the most recent Sienna poll, is 43%-44%, which is not good for an incumbent. Her support for the New York City mayor has contributed to her unpopularity.
The Mamdani administration is an avowed opponent of private property, excepting the Mamdani family’s residential assets here and in Uganda. Hochul and the Democrat-controlled legislature cravenly caved to his demand for a punitive surcharge on luxury second homes worth over $5 million under a new pied-a-terre tax.

You can vote your way into it, but you will have to shoot your way out.
For those that think commies in NY don’t impact other states, note that ALL government folks wind up funneling tax money to their buddies.
Now that DSA has the NYC tap, they will use it to their full advantage to fund a surge of Boris/Natasha plots throughout the country.
And the NYC tap is a big one.
People who own nothing will always vote to take things away from those who DO own something.
I have said for many years: “Only those who own property should be allowed to vote.” Otherwise, the takers will always outvote those who own property. A pack of wolves will outvote the single sheep on the question: “What’s for dinner?”
If the “homeowners” have severe TDS, are LIB nitwits or have other serious mental health “issues” they will not be able to stem the tide of DIM lunacy. While it is pathetic to observe this self-loathing behavior (from afar), it is good for a laugh. This emerging embrace of anti-Americanism is unfortunate and not good for the Republic as a whole.
We need to limit the ability of Democrats to buy votes by placing middle-class tax caps in the federal constitution.
Enter in bills for two constitutional amendments:
RESIDENTIAL PROPERTY TAX AMENDMENT
Levies on any residential property of less than 2799 square feet of finished living space shall be no higher than the 2019 dollar amounts for the property, or for a newer or since resold property no higher than what it would have been levied at for 2019 if it lacked owner specific tax breaks, increased by 3% per calendar year since 2019 and by any percentage increase to its finished living space.
FEDERAL PERSONAL INCOME TAX AMENDMENT
Federal taxation on personal income shall be progressively capped as follows:
below 20% of the median federal full-time civilian employee compensation amount, 10%,
below 50% of the median federal full-time civilian employee compensation amount, 22%,
below the median federal full-time civilian employee compensation amount, 30%,
below the average federal full-time civilian employee compensation of the 100,000 largest recipients, 35%,
below the average federal full-time civilian employee compensation of the 10,000 largest recipients, 40%.
[Note 1: All percentages to include employee FICA and self-employment tax as they are income taxes.]
[Note 2: These are very close to the combined (1040 + employee FICA & Medicare) personal income tax rates now levied.]
[Note 3: Anything that the IRS would as of January 1, 2024 legally be able to collect income tax on if provided to any person would be considered compensation.]
Fighting in Congress to send middle-class income and property taxation cap constitutional amendments to the states would make Congress turn deep red come 2027.
These amendments will serve to reunite the United States.
The emphasis will shift back to making systems work with the generally limited funds available. If more funds are absolutely needed at a given time, federal government salaries can be cut. That won’t be for long.
The high-income people have the Laffer Curve effect to protect them.
The other thing that would work is a flat tax.
If, like the middle class, poor folks were losing half of their income to fund all those wonderful social programs, they would change their tune real quick.
I’m ready.
I’m convinced the ‘two homes tax’ in NYC is just the beginning. Won’t be long before it’s “two acres tax” in the rest of the state. I only hope there are more of us than the squatters, entitled, elitists and illegals in the dumprat big tent.
Absolutely right. The colonies and early USA had it right when they made propriety ownership a requirement to vote. Nothing gives you a stake in making the country work better than owning a bit of it. Your voting decision becomes critically important to you.
That’s a bit like asking,
Can rapists save women from feminism?
Votes/choices have consequences.
smh
The key won’t be this year. It will be next year.
Mandami got a grant/loan from Albany of about $8billion. That fills a hole for this year.
Where is that going to come from next year?
No.
Uh, homeowners voted for this crap. I don’t get the articles in the conservative press about how there is this hidden group of voters in states like New York who are going to rise up and defeat the political trend. Who do you think has been voting for the political trend, or just doesn’t care and isn’t voting? New Yorkers, including New York homeowners, have bought into New York liberalism. Now that their ox is being gored, some may wake up but it will be a small minority and they will get steamrolled.
The first thing we need to do is secure our elections.
Where is that going to come from this year?!
I guarantee you that both NYS and NYC are depending upon Congress to cut NYS a check.
How about it, other 49?
You cool with paying for this...?
Per AI sourced to Albany, for NYS...
“Total Federal Receipts: $96.7 billion in State Fiscal Year 2025.”
Fellow Americans, why do you keep pouring your money down this rathole?!
As a former lifelong resident of Westchester County — I was born there — I guarantee they will continue to vote for their commie TDS TAX. No hope whatsoever. And sadly, the basically normal people upstate will continue to suffer until they escape to a red state.
Of course. The question is: Will they?
Can Homeowners Save New York State from Socialism?
Sorry not a chance! Too many f’n losers in NYS, many with roots in shithole countries control the narrative and are prime candidates for communism.
