I got a TESLA one year ago. Yesterday I drove for 8 hours using FSD and felt fine at the end. Before FSD I would have been exhausted by the end. My total cost to charge during the trip was $18. If anyone has questions about Tesla or FSD feel free to DM me.

I don’t generally agree with GenXP — I will say insurance companies will happily make life difficult or impossible for drivers if they can generate consistent margin. People are variables and instability in that math, and leftists have infiltrated too many sectors.

Around here if the Tesla doesn’t come with a locomotive cow catcher there’s no way FSD will navigate rogue deer.

On the occasion of long highway trips sure. A better case would be long haul trucks and ditch the foreign English-never CDL death drivers. Even so “human in the lead” as we use in AI.

I becomes more than just a “freedom” issue - it’s also a personal safety issue. A FSD vehicle won’t help you escape a raging mob that surrounds you. It could also enable regulation to stop you from where you want to go, e.g. “15 minute cities”.

These are more problematic in the USA than elsewhere, the EU will likely go in the direction you imply first....imho.

Glad to hear that someone had that good luck with a Tesla. I still can’t afford an EV & don’t want one, altho I admit they do have certain advantages. Certainly do not trust a self driving vehicle, particulary in heavy traffic, but maybe one would not normally operate there under certain conditions. My car is old, but affordable, has about 90% of the features I would use anyway, & gets good mileage. Not sure how it would compare to most EVs in this respect, but we have few places here to charge one, so I would need a home charger.

The auto driving cars have partially been the same people we’re taking driving licenses from.

Why do we tolerate this? Tesla is also so quick to skirt the law saying they aren’t a car company but a tech company instead.

So a question for the FSD crowd. Does the car in FSD go exactly the speed limit? I’m trying to imagine a world where say one third of the cars on the road are going exactly the speed limit.
