Clearly we're not getting tariff checks, but whatever happened to DOGE checks?

Does something like this result in a new wave of fake email scams and phishing?

I seem to remember a lot of talking heads assuring us the companies would pay the tariffs along with people like Epstein’s friend Lutnick; all part of the grand plan.

Now that some were declared illegal, companies are clawing that money back. But in the end, it was the consumer who paid and I’m sure Amazon is only returning a token amount.

This, DOGE, was everything a lie?
Yes.

Amazon getting tariff refunds and passing some back to customers is a reminder that tariffs can be a negotiation tool. The ultimate goal should be fair trade deals that protect American workers, not permanent barriers.

Apple got a $2.2 billion tariff refund this quarter.

Apple reported third-quarter earnings per share of $2.02, beating the Street consensus estimate of $1.89 by 13 cents.

In a statement, the company attributed 11 cents per share in earnings coming from tariff refunds. This means that as much as 85% of the 13-cent per share earnings beat came from tariff refunds.

Tariff dividends, doge, and Covid reparations from communist China were just political talking points. Nothing more.

“...we’re not getting tariff checks...”

And you won’t. Amazon is getting a refund of $600M out of the tax holding accounts of your money. Amazon so far in 2026 has profited, not made but profited, $135.28 billion. $600 million to them is peanuts but it was money now realized that was in their coffer to begin with. If they were going to pocket the money then, what makes you think they won’t now? Don’t hold your breath.

Amazon is a public shareholders and led by founder Jeff Bezos, who serves as executive chairman, and Andy Jassy, who serves as president and CEO. We already know about Bezos. Jaffy is closing in on billionaire status. He is a big democratic political donater. Bezos goes both ways for advantages in his donations.

Bezos gives primarily to the Bezos’ Earth fund for climate change and the Jaffy family has their own 501 in Naples, FL.

Not the importer of record for the large majority of items sold in our store.

Only 99.9 % are so there.
