The idea of the commencement speaker always seemed silly to me. They wait till the last moments of your education to bring in someone to inspire you. I would think it would be better to bring in someone on the FIRST day of school to get your head straight and on the path to success. What would you tell a student on the first day of school?

When one of my niece’s children came home after the first day of school, she was greeted with “Mom, how long is this going to continue?”
She answered, “At least another 14 years.”
My niece, the killjoy.
Teachers are required to pace at the slowest kid's level of understanding.
I never thought of that! Its true, we PKs don't care what the rest think.
So true!
My sister and I have discussed this. Even though childhood in the parsonage, school, and social situations were rough, we appreciate it now. We have no problem displaying our I-don’t-give-a-sh!t attitudes when necessary.
Learning to know, learning to do, learning to live together, and learning to be the best you can be.
