For almost four decades, I did expert witness testimony in wrongful death cases. The purpose of such testimony is often to place an affected party in a position of financial indifference between a "before" and "after" event. It's the same premise for black reparations.
Most enslaved Africans brought to the United States came from Senegambia and west-central Africa, including present-day Senegal, Gambia, Guinea-Bissau, Mali, Angola, Congo, the Democratic Republic of Congo, and Gabon. I did a calculation that compared wages in these countries today and compared them to current black wages in the US. I then did a present value analysis using a 5% discount rate on the income flows, extending it back 150 years.
The result is: blacks in the US have benefitted by just over $640,000 versus blacks who stayed in those African countries over that period of time. In other words, add up the income differentials for US versus African blacks, discount that wage differential over that 150 year period and US blacks have gained over $640K on average. So, if you are a descendant of a black slave, you owe non-blacks in the US a little over $640K.

Reparations talk is a red herring. It’s completely illogical for people that have never owned slaves to owe money to people who have never been slaves. If you’re not happy here, go back to your country of origin. I’ll contribute to a go-fund-me to help make it happen.

The entire national debt approximates what was spent on each black person to try and raise them up.
Most blacks receive about $11,000 in government services they do not pay for. Add them up in an investment account and you’d have about $1 million over their life.
I want a refund on all the taxes paid into The Great Society. It did not work so give me a refund!
I would be 100% down to use my tax dollars to offer each black peraon $1 million dollars in reparations. The catch would be you have to forfeit your citizenship ship and leave the country. Get out and don’t ever come back. How many would take that deal?

About 5% of black slaves from Africa went to the US, 40% to 45% went to South America (primarily Brazil), and about and 45% to 50% went to the Caribbean.
In 17th-century Brazil, about 90% of newly imported African captives died within their first 7 years of labor in the sugar cane fields. Brazil officially eliminated slavery in 1888.
In 1748-1788, over 335,000 African slaves were brought to Jamaica. Most died within 3 years.
Black slavery in the US was evil, but it was not close to the brutality in Brazil and the Carribean.

And when they leave to go home to Africa, they need to leave all their possessions, cars, homes, and especially bank accounts in the possession of the United States Government. Without the U.S. Government, they would have nothing but a small patch of dirt and a hut made out of stick in their beloved Afrika.
More than 20 years ago I got my son a job on an offshore oil rig when he got out of high screwl. He worked for two summers. I had several objectives in this action and all of them were accomplished.
He and a boy were needle scaling down on the moonpool deck, an especially uncomfortable and mind numbing job. The boy asked my son, “Just how you think they get them rockets to the moon and back?” My son explained escape velocity and all the other factors of escaping earth’s gravity, sling shoting around the moon, firing a booster rocket at just the right time, slowing and entering earth’s atmosphere. After that explanation and a pause for thought, the boy said, “Huh. But just how do you think they get them rockets to the moon and back?”

Give US blacks a reparations check for $300,000 to go back to Africa and live like the black Kangz that built the pyramids an sphinx. Life there will be 100% free from white racism that is keeping them down. The Man that is keeping them down.
In Africa they will encounter something 100x worse. Black tribalism and clannism. They kill each other there over tribalism and all kinds of trivial other stuff.

Your numbers are totally out of wack. 1 $M spent per black is way too “small” to amount to the national debt.
Other countries (eg Japan) don’t have blacks and still have humongous debts. The real cause is socialism (and in parts, blacks).
I demand reparations for the years I worked and got paid less than men doing the same job.
