Apple iPhone iOS 27 Beta 4 terminates Safari browser if you visit FoxNews
07/22/2026

I am involved with the Apple developer program and therefore get the latest beta iOS updates. The last update iOS 27 Beta 4 is really weird because ONLY when visiting FoxNews does it automatically terminate Safari. I have not tested another single site other than FoxNews that resulted in termination of the Safari browser.

Apple drops iOS 27 Beta 4

Problem arises on script and auto run heavy sites.

Can you google?

Considering how bloated and polluted FoxNews.com happens to be, not too surprising.

The same turds who program AI to show a “happy white woman” search shows them all with black men or “American founding fathers” as all black men. Is “stupidication” a word or do we just have to live with it?

Interesting. My OS updated a day or so ago through t-mobile. I typed in fox news.com and it wouldn’t load. First time I’ve attempted to go there since the 2020 election. Yes, I hold grudges😉

It is “Beta” for a reason. Foxnews.com works fine on Safari/iOS v.26.5.2.

“Brave” for iOS does better with the “ad onslaught” on “news” pages.

Though it’s possible you got some whackjob employee putting a kill safari if you go to faux nooos! website but I’d suspect some javascript link on the foxnews site triggering a new safari bug over something nefarious.

My iPhone and laptop still have the last OS on them. No notice of update yet. I don’t use my iPhone for anything but phone calls and texts, so not being able to access Fox on Safari on the phone won’t be a problem for me. I don’t sync my phone and MacBook Air either. I only click on a Fox News link on my laptop if it’s the source of an article on FR, and I want to read the full story. I stopped watching Fox News and all news programming on all platforms back in 2008 when Obi-One was selected.

“Can you google?”

Yes. FoxNews is no heavier than many many other sites and NONE are having the problem. I think I stated in my original post.

I tried it and it demanded I disable add lockers I did but I still demanded I disable the add blocker. I have had trouble staying connected to thelibertydaily.com and protrumpnews.com even on iOS on different networks. They will reconnect usually but as the page autoload updates is loses the server, everything else I do is mostly ok, course I don't do much other than YouTube and FR so your results may vary.

I use nothing but Safari and occasionally FireFox.

Well I had to try it. I’d just loaded public beta2 (aka beta4). Foxnews.com works for me. 17promax.

Yeah, “ad blockers” can be problematic (leading to program/app “unstableness”). For me if going to an ad ridden website on a routine basis I use “Brave” it blocks 95% of the “bad stuff” by default. I use regular Safari for the rest and I do “ante up”/pay for the YT “no ads” plan. Google/YT has been upping the $ for “no ads” tho...I may have to explore YT ad blockers that “behave” (and aren’t Russian/Chinese/India spyware themselves).

Some script on the FoxNews web site is crashing the Safari browser on their latest IOS beta. File a bug ticket.
