I think they consider this to be the antidote to racism.
I think that Americans and Europeans became obsessed with racism as a reaction to the civil rights struggle in America. Most people recoiled in horror at the oppression of Black America and determined to oppose such oppression by any means necessary and to support any remedial action whatsoever.
In Europe, this was in part a negative reaction the the USA, which, as the liberator of Europe in World Wars I and II, had been considered a pristine, heroic paragon of virtue, and many Europeans, at least on some level, were delighted to have reason to disparage America and prove her to be no better than the European nations.
Unfortunately, a commitment to DEI and the rejection of racism as the supreme virtue required the sacrifice of truth as the supreme virtue. This results in a multitude of unintended consequences.
Political corruption is one.
Another is the undermining of Western Civilization itself.
The quest for Truth--Truth for its own sake--is the foundation of Western Civilization and the source of all its countless miracles.
Scorn of Truth is the evil most fundamental to the decadence of Western Civilization.
It is also the fatal flaw in the "liberal"/"progressive"/"woke" movement and way of thinking. Although these people may mean well, in allowing their good intentions to take precedence over Truth they have descended into untruth, political corruption, and other evils which if they think clearly they will clearly reject in favor of Truth.
The age old adage holds true: "The Road to Hell is paved with good intentions."
To paraphrase the voice of Krishna to Arjuna in the Bhagavad Gita: Although you mean well, your rejection of Truth has led you into dangerous and destructive delusion.

“The smoothest, easiest road to Hell is paved by sloth, greed, avarice, lust, and envy. Bread and circuses. Sex, drugs, sports, and rock and roll.”
“The straighest road to Hell is paved by godless communism.”
Those people are going to vote D no matter what, that’s 20%-30% of the voters.. I’m not talking about them, they are unmovable.. just like 20-30% will vote R no matter how bad the GOP candidate is.
Its the 40-60% in the middle that I am talking about... and those are the folks who the reminder of how corrupt the D’s were putting an invalid into office and lied to their faces about it for years will impact.
This is true of nearly every election. 20-30% (each side) are going to vote for their party no matter what, or will stay home rather than vote for the other side.
Those aren’t the people you need to sway.. Other than to get them to show up. Its the other 40-60% you need to move.
Democrats are in a bad way right now, however, that doesn’t mean people won’t vote for them out of anger, or that GOP voters won’t show up out of anger.
If gas prices are still high, and no meaningful progress happens between now and september on Iran... Dems will likely see decent gains.
They are almost certain to take the house no matter what, just based on the fact its a midterm, they are out of power, and they only need to net gain less than a handful of seats.
At the moment, a blue “wave” is not indicated, but if gas prices in particular, are still high come Sept/Oct... That will no longer likely be the case... not that voters are sold on Democrats, but they will voice their anger at the GOP by voting against them, or not voting for them.
IF on the other hand, gas prices are down significantly, I think this will be far more muted.
The Economy is the key, always has been, always will be. Gas prices affect the working class hardest, and much of Trump’s/GOP support in last several cycles have come from here.. If they lose them, the Dems will have a good night, not because folks are buying what they are selling, but they are angry and voting against those in power.
I’d say GOP has maybe 6-8 weeks tops to get gas prices down, and that means getting something substantial accomplished in Iran, at least in terms of their ability to sew chaos.
