Immigration Is A Proxy Issue For A Western Government Trend
American Thinker ^ | 19 Jul, 2026 | Allan J. Feifer

Mass immigration doesn’t stand alone. Instead, Western governments, including ours, have much grander plans for the end of nations.

One of the greater mysteries of our century may be why governments across much of Europe, North America, and even Australia adopted remarkably similar immigration policies seemingly at the same time. It is difficult to believe this happened by chance. And unlike Adam Smith’s Invisible Hand, which explains how complex order can arise without central direction, mass migration appears less like an organic historical development than a remarkably coordinated political calculus.

There are many explanations; some point to economics, others to humanitarianism. Others argue that businesses sought inexpensive labor or that politicians sought new voters. Whatever the explanation, governments across Western civilization not only permitted but actively facilitated mass immigration, even in the face of demonstrably low rates of assimilation by some groups. Government leaders have bent over backward, not only facilitating their entry but also subsidizing their living costs, looked the other way as large numbers of young male migrants, including many with criminal histories, entered and remained, and then protected them from expulsion.

This essay examines the forces that continue to promote this mass immigration despite electoral and mounting fiscal costs, and shows how these new immigrants have consistently failed to assimilate. Why do progressive governments cling to these policies like glue? Why do major media organizations so often minimize migrant crimes while emphasizing stories that reinforce preferred narratives that are harmful to a country’s citizens? Why has a common vocabulary—words such as “welcoming,” “neighbors,” and “safety”—appeared almost simultaneously across governments, advocacy groups, and media outlets?

The central question is not whether large-scale migration has been encouraged; evidence supports that conclusion. The real mystery is how so many institutions, in so many countries, arrived at the same destination nearly

This Wikipedia article explains the root of the problem.

Many Freepers are deep in denial:

“The book was written by Kennedy in 1958, while he was still a senator. It was written as part of the Anti-Defamation League’s series entitled the One Nation Library.[1] In the 1950s, former ADL National Director Ben Epstein was concerned by rising xenophobia and anti-immigrant rhetoric, so he reached out to then-Senator Kennedy to write a manuscript on immigration reform.[2][3]”

Ask East German Chancellor Andrea Merkel why she opened the flood gates?

Communist ideology for ALL of Europe or just plain Merkel in the Bunker with a revolver and some cyanide?

It’s an unholy alliance between the identity left and cheap labor capital. The left was ethnic minorities dependent on gov assistance and motivated by racial resentment of whites to vote left while capital wants cheap labor. Gov policy is carefully crafted to place the immigration burden of taxes, crime, and lowered wages on the white middle class while rewarding minorities with handouts and privileged access while the well off face less competition and benefit from regulations and restriction that provide asset inflation as well as from lower wages.

Everyone wins except the majority white middle class whose vote is deliberately fragmented.

World Economic Forum is one piece of this ‘mystery’.

Yes. It is similar to the drive for Empire by Alexander the Great. The left wants power over other men, claims the wisdom to “make things better”. Progressivism in the USA makes the same claims.

The extraordinarily wealthy communist/Nazis, exemplified by George Soros are the prime movers for this. Politicians are easily bought. Throw in the indoctrinated commies who are true believers, and the business titans who stand to gain cheap labor and minimization of competition and you have quite the toxic mess.

I speculate the end game is one world government with no borders. However, many of the facilitators don’t care at all about the end game and are really in it for gaining power and wealth.

I estimate the H-1B visa system has cost white collar workers in the USA between 5 and 10 trillion dollars over the last 20 years. The news media is actively lying and covering this up. Everybody is lying about this because the (real) numbers involved are shocking. All politicians love this. Democrats (for the votes) and republicans (for cheaper payrolls). There really is no political solution to this.

Interesting article-very. The majority of Americans support deportation and the activists as well as states and cities are getting in the way. Add to it the foothold the socialists now have here it will only expand. The squad got bigger after Cory Bush lost. We’ll see if she makes it back.

Too many mainstream democrats don’t see it coming and the rest of us are doing our part. Women are not having kids. Internationally too. Does it suggest the wealthier nations make the wealth gap offensive to where socialism is the answer?

It is a leftist (collectivist) lust for power over all of humanity.

Anyone who wants to and thinks it's OK to subvert the individuality and freedom of others in order to fulfill their narcissistic need to be above everyone else is a dangerous person who cannot be trusted and should never be allowed to have any position of authority. If they persist in that pursuit they should be incarcerated and/or permanently excluded from holding any government position.

In 1980 I read a leaked "Bilderburger Group" document that indicated all nations would be merged into a single world government, regardless of the desires of those governments. It would be accomplished by mass migration and destruction of the constituent societies.

Looks like that document wasn't a hoax after all.

Denial is not a river in Egypt.

Virtue signaling is for leftists. It is humiliating when our side does it.

I think the flaw in that plan is that the subsequent member countries become unmanageable by the posited world government since the countries have lost their financial and legal/moral cohesion. The World government would have no standing in which to bring people together and no means to enforce its will upon 200 separte nations out of its control. Of course some have posited that the elites have posited that Islam could be enlisted to bring about a world government and then with mechanisms in place, Islam could then be done away with but these elites i think have miscalculated.

There are a LOT more of us than there are of the small groups of narcissists who see themselves as above everyone else. The ONLY way they avoid backlash is to hide their intentions. That’s unsustainable, as is their nefarious ambition.

They’re also too delusional to see that there are zero guarantees that they will be the ones holding power in an oligarchy. Dictatorships are never permanent.

I can’t believe the people living in America are sitting on their thumbs and allowing the scum of the failed socialist nations to invade our country and start their colonization so they can take complete control of the American government. Illegal alien invaders and birthright anchor babies are taking over the Congress. Wake up America! It’s time for us to start polishing our bullets. We’re in deep doo doo right now.
