Thank heavens I missed this. But I did set through the two Ewok movies with the little girl so cute she made me want to puke. The films were so Saccharin I was afraid I had gotten diabetes from watching them. ONCE was enough.

Since George Lucas disavowed the Christmas Special it is heretical to say this. In 1978 when it first aired, ever kid under 12 loved the Star Wars Christmas Special. The special was for kids, not adults, like all other Christmas TV specials were. This was the time when children’s television like Mr Rodger’s Neighborhood and the Muppet Show were popular. So in relation to kids TV at the time it wasn’t that bad.
