My wife is a nurse and my daughter was in college at the time. Both were pretty much “required” to do it.

So was I. I still refused. I was given 3 months to take both the initial and a booster. I did neither.

A month before the deadline, I was put on a mandatory PTO for 4 weeks. The deadline came, and I assumed I was out of a job. 2 hours later, they emailed me saying they had "reconsidered" and "allowed" me to go back to work.

HR bugged me about it several times. I ignored the first. The second time I said, "I choose not to say whether I've had the vaccine or not based on my right to medical privacy."

HR's response was, "If you don't tell us, we'll have to assume you haven't had the vaccine."

I said, "Do whatever you need to do. It's my business."

No idea how many others in the company said the same thing, but that was the end of it. They didn't bother me again after that.

My family all got Covid as well. I haven’t had any shots, and think i had covid a couple of times (was tested and confirmed on the first one) and haven’t had it since. If I had it the second time, it didn’t seem as severe.

Correct, but with a caveat. Trump's "right to try" mentality is correct. Unfortunately, he is somewhat "germ-phobic" and not terribly well-educated technically, and thus had way too much faith in the medical "science" model. Engineers have done more for human health, medical practice, and life extension than doctors ever dreamed, although the more recent "regenerative medicine" model does show promise there.

My workplace (A hospital of all places!!!) REQUIRED the vaccine for all employees. ALL EMPLOYEES.

My entire department was WFH at the time. I hadn't actually met a co-worker in over a year. Still required it.

I'm still here. Still WFH. Still waiting for an apology that will never come. Still never caught Covid, and still waiting on a reasonable explanation as to why a vaccine for me would protect others.
