It’s weird that when we were kids in the 70’s we often stayed in the car on hot summer days while mom went shopping for 15 or more minutes. Of course, the windows were left down, as there was much LESS worry of abduction and other crimes in public, but no one batted an eye about seeing this.

I recall similar, except we had a few instances of bees coming in the car and startling us and passers by helping out :)
