Number one: Seger’s Turn the Page featuring the late Alto Reed.
Where is “Mirror in the bathroom”?
One of my favorites. And yeah, it's a very sensuous tune, lyrics, melody, all of it.
I play lead guitar in a band that does mostly 60's-70's classic rock covers, and one day between sets I was just fooling around with the two main verse chords of Spooky (in this case Dm7-G6) and the lead singer picked up on it and asked if I wanted to do it. I said yeah the Atlanta Rhythm Section arrangement, and so in the second set we just played it off the top of our heads. Big hit with the audience so it went into the repertoire immediately.
The guitar solos are some of the most fun to play of anything. So cool.
Bfl
The long version of Get Ready performed by Rare Earth had a good sax solo.
Ditto. My favorite R & B song.
Ditto. My favorite R & B song.
Great additions!
Why Madness’ version of “One Step Beyond” and not Prince Buster’s version?
Definitely a glaring omission.
Yep, should be on there.
Another one. Short, but sweet:
Lou Reed - Walk On The Wild Side
How about every song from Boston low rock band Morphine ??? My buddy was the original drummer and re-joined later after dealing with a health issue .
How about the solo in Lou Reed’s Walk On The Wild Side ?
Where is “Mirror in the bathroom”?
Great tune.
Lester Young
Pink Floyd had some nice saxophone parts.
But one of the greats that is forgotten about is this one:

Edgar Winter played a brilliant sax solo on Meatloaf’s paradise by the Dashboard Light and his sax work ill through his music
