That’s not posting police, it’s just plain smart. Homebrewing your own definition for terms that already have well established definitions is... well, frankly #$%^ing stupid. And rude. And annoying. And causes a bunch of needless confusion.
Had you said “pay for access” which is what cable and streaming ARE. We’d have had a different and more interesting discussion. Of course everything is going to pay for access, broadcast is dead, the model doesn’t work anymore. Interestingly the NFL is really the league most attached to broadcast at this point, with 3 contracts still on big 4 broadcast networks. Of course I stream all of them.
But no, you CHOSE to say “pay per view” which has a VERY SPECIFIC meaning, and that meaning isn’t actually what you meant. So everything was on the wrong foot, because you put it there. You chose to homebrew your own definition, for no good reason, and with no good results.
