We are united with Christ. If a priest or denomination is in-between you and Christ, look out. That’s a problem.

I don’t mind denominations, as long as the churches in them are independent. We object to a structure with a governing authority between the church and Christ. We left the SBC church we went to, as the tithes and offerings we gave were sent up-ward (and I don’t mean Heaven). Then it was distributed by people we didn’t know, to people and organizations we didn’t know.
I saw a sign or meme that said something like “It’s not so much how close the church is to you, but how close the church is to the Bible.”
We used to drive 35 minutes to church. We moved and now it is 20 minutes to the same church. I think that as we grow as Christians we will grow in our knowledge and understanding of the Word, and will seek out congregations that feed that increased understanding.
Of course there will always be differences in viewpoints among the congregation - and the pastors on some things. But having unity in the fundamentals is pretty important.
