How worried should Democrats be about the Democratic Socialists of America?
As someone who knows the DSA inside out, I can say with authority: They should be very worried indeed.
I was a DSA member for years and served in local leadership.
But today’s DSA — illiberal, dogmatic and hostile to traditional American political norms — is not the organization I once knew.
It includes disciplined, radicalized networks that have methodically expanded their power over the last decade in pursuit of extremist goals.
As the Democratic Party grapples with the DSA’s growing influence and extremism, it would do well to recognize that the same dynamic underway now — first accommodation, then capture, then surrender to insurgent radicals — already played out on a smaller scale within the DSA itself.
And there’s only one defense: out-organizing it.
For decades, the DSA was mostly composed of a cohort of aging Boomers, remnants from the group’s founding in 1982.
It prioritized open debate and political tolerance.
Following in the tradition of founder Michael Harrington, members viewed the DSA not as a revolutionary vanguard but as a reformist bridge to mainstream labor-liberalism; they prioritized parliamentary process and pluralism.
But in the mid-2010s, the character of the organization began to change.
I was in Boston at the time and witnessed the last days of the “old” DSA.
New, younger members began to enter the organization as Sen. Bernie Sanders and the socialist magazine Jacobin grew their followings.

It is an oxymoron, no such thing exists.
Just what do these people think anyway? Or maybe they just don’t think. Socialism has never worked and will never work, it is destined for failure. I guess they don’t teach history in school anymore. Animal Farm was mandatory reading when I was in junior high, and it was a brilliant way of exposing how socialism works and how everyone is equal except some are more equal, the fat cats at the top. Just look at Venezuela and Cuba that were once prosperous.
They can call it whatever they want. Dismiss the name if you will, but the evil people within it are 100% real.
They think THEY know more than all the rest of us. They're know-it-all morons.
Label the DSA a domestic terrorist organization and then take them out.
None of these people EVER held a JOB and they ALL lived with and were funded by mommies and daddy

Yeah, but not just moronic, they are outright dangerous.
They believe the lie and thing that they are the ones than can make socialism work.
I remember someone in the Clinton regime saying that they were the ones who could get socialism right.
Marxism/communism is the best method ever devised for a small group of people to seize power and take control over a very large group of people.

The Marxists put the Socialists to the wall.
Their schematic:
1. Use race, culture, and class divisions to cause civil unrest.
2. Relax immigration and border control to facilitate rapid demographic shifts, provide potential for vote fraud, and decrease US wages - leading to dissatisfaction with capitalism.
3. Use central control in Communist / socialist nations to provide cheaper labor - allowing those nations to outcompete the US industrial base.
4. By doing #2-3, decrease opportunities for American youth - making them more susceptible to anti-capitalism sentiment.
5. Ramp up anti-capitalist pro-Communist propaganda / indoctrination in schools/universities, and wherever possible in media and entertainment.
6. Simultaneously label anyone supporting capitalism, voicing opposition to open border, or opposing the left a fascist (use that word and other terms (imperialist, white supremacist, racist, bigot, homophobe, xenophobe etc. as derisive labels for anyone in the opposition.
7. Dilute the power of religion as a guard against socialist / communist takeover (label religion as anti-science, anti-gay, regressive, etc.; work to infiltrate the hierarchy of the Catholic Church such that a figure such as a Pope JohnPaul II type figure is removed as a potential threat to socialism/Communism).
8. Use the tenets of religion (generosity, self-sacrifice, kindness, helping those in need, not turning away those with unmet need etc) to shame Americans who oppose open borders, mass immigration, and socialism / Communism.
9. Promote policies that increase inflation, thus diluting the accumulated capital of the middle class and promoting dissatisfaction with Capitalism.
10. Link democracy with socialism (e.g. social democrat).
11. Work to socialize as many institutions as possible.
12. Infiltrate a political party, take it over, push socialist / Marxist candidates.
etc. etc.
13. Develop a violent protest wing that can be used to oppose law enforcement, shut down any deportations, and violently suppress oposition groups (e.g. Antifa).
etc. etc. etc..
