California activists are calling for the state's preschools to legitimize the use of Black English in the classroom.
Supporters say teaching the dialect, also known as African American English (AAE) or African American Vernacular English (AAVE), will help 'combat harmful language hierarchies.'
The Black Californians United for Early Care & Education group is part of a movement advocating for Black English to be recognized as a legitimate, rule-based language in preschool classrooms on par with other languages.

The Black Californians United for Early Care & Education group is part of a movement advocating for Black English to be recognized as a legitimate, rule-based language in preschool classrooms on par with other languages.
The group uses resources like the Black English Knowledge Brief and webinar series, which helps educators, caregivers, and school leaders better understand Black English, its roots.
It also offers ways to create classrooms that affirm children's language and identity.
It comes after the Golden State introduced a plan in 2020 to expand early dual-language learning and support bilingual children.

They want a cut of that ESL funding $$$.
This move could create an entire new population of rap artists.
Clear communication is why countries have "official languages". Yes, you may speak what ever your local language or dialect is but you always learn the official one at school. Because it is necessary you be able to talk to people outside your group.
This kind of program is designed to remove black people from the American group. From the national conversation if you will.
This is never done for any benign purpose. Once a group is isolated and rendered unable to interact with other groups in any meaningful way the next step is usually to either turn them into scapegoats or into shock troops.
This is really bad and it worries me that most people are not seeing what is going on.
All this language teaching is time away from English grammar teaching with the obvious aftermath. Perhaps this curriculum is a deceitful way to slip Black Separatism into America. With that they will have no reason to follow our laws. They already practice looting and gang violence. Soon the Knockout Game with innocent victims will be a national sport. Sexual crimes will begin in the schools as if the consequences have no relevance to them.
Mofo becomes first new word.
And many Africans who migrate to the US speak excellent English (not sure about Somalians).
Dr. Robert Williams, an African-American social psychologist, coined the term Ebonics in 1973. His goal was to combine the words “ebony” with “phonics” to refer to “black sounds.”Williams and several other African-American social scientists had gathered that year at a conference sponsored by the National Institutes of Health to discuss the psychological development of black children. Williams and his associates had been displeased with the term Black English and began to ponder the alternatives.
Williams recounted the creation of Ebonics as follows:
“We need to define what we speak. We need to give a clear definition to our language...We know that ebony means black and that phonics refers to speech sounds or the science of sounds. Thus, we are really talking about the science of black speech sounds or language.”

Just another way to allow them to continue to fail while blaming it on Whitey.
,,, what be dat?
If we drag standards down to dirt level, we can all wear our pyjamas to the supermarket.
More than once on the canceled series Blue Bloods Detective Danny Reagan would say to interviewed perps: “So, if you say you didn’t do nothing that means you admit did something. You should have paid attention in English class. If you mean you didn’t do anything you should say so.”
Would that be like the low-IQ Pidgin English that we sometimes see here from the BBC? Why bother with that unless their brains can’t handle standard English? It will definitely relegate them to lower status if that’s all they can speak, read and write. The Chinese commies “simplified” (dumbed down) Mandarin to hold back the peasants.
Funny how real Africans can master English and speak it better than many Whites....yet brothas and sistas born here in the best country on earth simply refuse to do so.

Will the children all be getting lip implants so they can properly pronounce the strange words?
There are more people speaking Klingon than Esperanto these days.
I’ll stop going to Walmart over this.....
That is the most positive context i have ever seen Ebonics discussed in. Thanks for detailed info.
