On the heels of Atlantic magazine's prominent writer Jonathan Chait panicking about communists taking over the Democrat party, he went full blast five days later on Monday torching the party enablers of Graham Platt in "With Graham Platner, Democrats Got Drunk on the Beer Test."
Specifically Chait blasted those who performed the laughably lame vetting of Platner as well as those who continued to promote him despite the many scandals that erupted around him.
Chait's first blast was directed at Morris Katz, whose unbelievably weak vetting of Platner in the first place ultimately led to the Democrats being in the unenviable situation of perhaps being forced to switch out their candidate for U.S. Senate in Maine.

- nazi tattoo
- lied repeatedly about nazi tattoo
- said he would rape people
- sexted with women while married
- bragged about drawing penises in porta potties
- praised islamic terrorists
- said he’s a communist
- joined an app known to be used by predators to contact minors
- sexual assault allegations
But now they decided it’s too much. All the above was totally fine though

Exactly so. I forget the name of the genius group that dug him up. The theory on him was come up with a man who isn’t effeminate, is a veteran, and can mouth the talking points du jour, and push him past the idiot democrat electorate. The lesson for the evil bastards who orchestrated this debacle is you have to exercise at least a little more care in making sure the candidate’s baggage isn’t just a little too heavy
Incredibly, Platner is the perfect embodiment of what the Democrats believe MAGA republicans regard as real masculinity - a PTSD-afflicted veteran with a bloodthirsty streak, a “gun nut”, a dumb slob who works with his hands (”oyster farmer”), a goonish sex addict who thinks rape is A-OK, a troglodyte with a beard and a Nazi tattoo, the whole package. This ludicrous caricature of a man is the Democrats’ idea of the perfect instrument to hoodwink straight white he-men into jumping off the Trump train and voting for their fake candidate. Hard to imagine anything more insulting, but that’s their playbook.

Platner is the Senatorial version of “The Monkeys”, a product of a casting call. No offense intended to The Monkeys who played their parts well and weren’t rapist scum. Platner’s a manufactured product without any quality control, whose “best sell by” date has passed. Let’s hope he burns the Dems by refusing to drop out before July 13.
