And the math is wrong anyways. 2000 Cal/day is a way to lose weight. 1000/day = starvation.

I don’t much care about people’s social overreaction and the whole “fat shaming” crud. If you are fat, maybe someone should be looking out for you if you can’t look out for yourself, just like a bar shouldn’t be serving more drinks to someone who is falling down drunk.

However, I consider that blatant false advertising to call it “All you can eat” if you are going to make ridiculous consumption stipulations.

“2000 Cal/day is a way to lose weight. 1000/day = starvation.”

Per meal.

Exactly. 1,000 calories? Ridiculous.

Whole thing smells like a hoax by an illiterate and innumerate hoaxer.

How would the POS system know how much this person is eating per day?

Read the message more closely! It does not say “per day” and common sense dictates that it is for a single meal! Since the norm is three meals per day that would result in a 3000 calorie daily intake.

I had to chuckle at that. 1,000 calories a day for a 6 foot man would put you into a bad state after a few weeks. That’s starvation level calories.

It doesn’t say /day.

A man that only eats 2000 calories a day will eventually starve. 1000 a day is almost like a hunger strike.

It really seems like the goal is to kill people with voluntary starvation.

I think their reasoning is to keep it under 1000 calories per meal, as we all eat at least twice a day, if not 3 or 4 times.

Nah. 2000 is a more or less reasonable number for an active or working individual. Sedentary and/or older people can gain weight on 2k. The RDA is based on a bunch of assumptions, as one might expect from a government bureaucracy.

1000 is a pretty reasonable figure for moderate weight loss. Sustainable over time, 1.5 to 2 pounds a week is about the average limit for most people over time.

It is nowhere near enough for active adults male or performing at a moderate exertion level.

I think they were talking about that meal, not the whole day.

Probably, because it didn’t happen. Some redditor AI generated the warning and went to Reddit to get attention and validation.
