I do it every day

I’m on the ping list

I do it alone

The time to solve depends entirely on how difficult it is. It is silly to generalize how long one “should” take. Some have one two or three letter words or obvious “th” words or punctuation that gives it away.. others are devoid of such clues: especially the short ones.

I never use the clue or read ahead to look at people’s clues.

I normally solve it in my head before writing anything down or using the cryptogram helper - I must enter the letters in order rather than jumping around.

Thanks for all your work on our lovely cryptos.

1) I solve them randomly, when real life allows. But when I do, I usually do both that are in the thread.

2) 2-3 minutes

3) very rarely use the clue. I also try to solve it before reading the thread for others clues. But when I’m reallllly stuck, they help.

4). on the list

5) I play alone.

It’s usually the small words that give it away but today it was QDHIYIDHIDWI. The common suffix gave me a good start on the rest of the word.

SURVEY
1. A—Daily, can’t start the day without it.
2. It depends. I usually try to solve it in my head, then write it down with my first cup of coffee in the morning.
3. C—I have no idea how to “swipe for letter clue.” I don’t look at any of the clues until after I have solved the cryptogram.
4. B—No. How do I get on the ping list?
5. A—I play alone. However I text a copy of the cryptogram to my daughters later in the day.

After a while you get a feel for the sentence - the structure and rhythm starts giving it away.
