Maine Democrat Senate candidate Graham Platner abruptly canceled multiple town hall events as new damaging information is about to be released.
Platner, the scandal-plagued Democrat with a Nazi tattoo, may drop out of the Senate race.

Gorham town hall tonight – CANCELED
Sanford town hall tonight – CANCELED
Platner went into hiding last month as one scandal after another continued to rock his campaign.
As Platner was hiding from the press, The New York Times dropped a nasty hit piece on him.
The New York Times dropped a devastating report with disturbing claims from Graham Platner’s ex-girlfriends.
One ex-girlfriend claimed Platner locked her in a room and forcefully grabbed her.

These stories must be coming from some part of the MSM. Someone or a group of people have been dropping stories about him for the last month or so. He went from +7 to -3 over Senator Collins in about ten days.
My guess and it is just a swag that the stories coming out this evening or tomorrow morning are devasting to his campaign and some of his well know supporters will withdraw their support.
RCP has Platner up by less than 1%. Look at RCP averages and actual results for the last two cycles in Maine up about 10 posts.
Platner lost this. I don’t think that’s *the* reason he’s being booted, but you’d better believe they know he’s losing and that contributed to the decision when whatever other horror we haven’t seen yet became known.

There have been no polls on any candidate other than Graham Plattner vs Susan Collins since the June 9 primary.
Janet Mills is now damaged goods. It would be very difficult for her to resurrect her campaign. (I did see a Janet Mills sign in a very prominent place in Downtown Portland this weekend.) Her chief of staff and campaign manager are traveling together in Europe (they are married to each other).
Just to be clear. The deadline to resign is Monday, July 13, 2026.* The deadline to replace is Monday, July 27, 2026. The state Dem Party Committee is the group that will choose a replacement. The Dems have a major state event at which most of the State Committee members will be at on Sunday, July 19, 2026.
* There are provisions for replacement after the deadline for catastrophic illness, condition or injury that has permanently and continuously incapacitated the candidate and would prevent performance of the duties of the office sought, . . . or dies prior to the general election.
The Dems have themselves in a pickle of their own making.
Platner is the darling of the DSA who “heroically” beat an establishment Dem. Bernie is in his corner and the youth vote will contemplate no other than Platner as their candidate. To withdraw him means incurring the ANTIFA wrath and the wrath of the DSA.
Leave him in and he will get the aforementioned fringe vote. But that is about it.
Can’t win with the fringe DSA vote alone, can’t win without it.

If you have that many skeletons in your closet then it is stupid to run for an open political office.
Unless the rewards would be so high it would be worth it no matter what the outcome.
No telling what the Soros types of the dark world may have offered this guy.
And remember, at the end of the day his family is well off so he doesn’t have to worry about his next chapter.
That this story is coming from the house organ of the Democrat party is all you really need to know.

It won’t surprise me if he drops out and the Dems replace him with their choice that the voters won’t get to vote in a primary. Sounds familiar, huh?

That office...in a storefront off Main Street...was opened in 2025. I drove past it all the time. And no American flag out front!
