President Donald Trump has been warning recently that communism will pose a threat to the U.S. if Democrats win in the upcoming midterm elections.
Last week, he referred to Democrats as “hard core, godless Communists”.
But experts say his claims, echoed by Vice President J.D. Vance and other Republican leaders, are off base.
Here’s a closer look at the facts.
THE FACTS: No candidate openly belonging to the U.S. Communist Party has ever been elected to state or federal office, according to experts. Although there are fringes of the Democratic Party that have expressed support for communist ideas, experts say that they still advocate for a market-based economy and that it is inaccurate to paint the entire party with such a broad brush. Trump recently began referring to Democrats pejoratively as “Dumocrats.”
“The reality is that none of these major political figures in the Democratic Party, even those further out on the left, are identifying as communists,” said Marc Selverstone, director of presidential studies at the University of Virginia’s Miller Center for Public Affairs, adding that it’s an opportunity to portray Democrats as marginal figures.

They are actually saying the want to SEIZE the means of economic prosperity; seize the free markets.
They want to be the sole distributor of personal liberty.

We've been around for 250 years and we did well thanks to the system established by our Founding Fathers.
We can make a choice to dismantle a system that worked very well for us instead we will "experiment" with a system which is well-known for many cases of documented failures in history.
Under communism, Zohran Mamdani gets to make all decisions.
If the American people truly want to live under that system, at first we need to explain to everyone of the choice that they are making.

With a media that self-identifies as 90% Leftist, and a Hollywood that has an even greater percentage, I see that they have succeeded wholly in these two goals.
As F.A. Hayek explains in his seminal work "The Road To Serfdom" (one of the books that I own the Hard Copy, Ebook, and Audiobook versions of) Socialism is the the road to tyranny. It ends up in Communist and Fascist rule.

What they have done with this article is to state because none of today's elected Democrats are formal members of the Communist Party, then there are no Communists in government today.

It doesn’t matter what the lying leftist Democrats “identify as”. They’ve been in sync with the CPUSA agenda and policies for going on three decades now. The only question might be... was CPUSA parroting the Democrat Party agenda and policies... or was the Democrat Party parroting the CPUSA agenda and policies. Either way.... it spells the same damn thing. Democrats embrace communist policies and ideology. It’s not complex.

In Russia, the Social Democratic Party schismed into Mensheviks, the supposed moderates, and Bolsheviks, the more radical social democrats who ultimately prevailed. It was only after securing total power that they renamed themselves the Communist Party of the Soviet Union (Bolshevik). Their leader, Lenin, defined their program succinctly: “Socialism is the road, Communism is the destination.”
