Saul Goodman is un-ironically celebrating America's 250th birthday and it's one of the best things I've seen all year

No lies detected here from Mr. Bob Odenkirk.

Pretty amazing to hear one of Hollywood's most bankable stars of the past 15 years implicitly refer to the Founders as "a whole bunch of good people." Not something you're apt to see at the Oscars!

Even better, it looks like this may be a series, perhaps leading up to the 4th of July.

Thanks for showing us how it's done, Saul!

I saw one of his recent movies, it was called “Nobody 2”.
Something about the poster with the guy sitting in a lawn chair, told me all I needed to know. I never saw ‘Nobody #1, but I did not care.

It was a satire, it was light humor, but edgy with a dash of violent action here and there, but not over the top violence. It would probably be a fun diversion for 90 minutes or so. I was right. I have never seen any of his TV work, though I have heard his name for years.

“not over the top violence”

There was plenty in Nobody 1.

To really understand the Saul Goodman character, it would really be best to watch the whole Breaking Bad series....that’s where the character was born...and Breaking Bad isn’t for everyone.

I’ve heard much about Breaking Bad, but not seen any of it.
Some of the Nobody movie reminds me of what I have heard about

a Korean movie made in 2024 called
“Officer Black Belt”.

**An upbeat, unassuming martial arts genius who works at his dad’s chicken delivery shop saves a police martial arts officer in a physical struggle. He temporarily fills in, partnering with a probation officer to track and incapacitate violent offenders.

This is great, but I still remember his begging Electors to not vote for Trump in 2016.

Lee, I also haven’t caught Breaking Bad before. You are not alone!

I may look up the Nobody item, though.

Thanks!

I have to say-in the first "Nobody" movie, it has one of the most enjoyable fight scenes I have ever seen! (and I am apparently not the only one who feels this way!)

LINK: Nobody | The Bus Fight in 4K HDR

He faces off a gang of guys who are harassing a girl on a bus at 3:00 AM...HAHAHAHA...all done to the introductory backdrop of classic Frank Sinatra singing "I've Gotta Be Me"!

I have liked nearly everything I have seen this guy in.

We can (and should) allow people to change their minds. If we don’t, we lose everything including people like David Horowitz and Tulsi Gabbard.

Heh, if you can't lip read, what he says at the end of that GIF is: "I'm gonna f**k you up." And he does...:) I will say one thing-they have to make Russian thugs the bad guys because they can't portray muslim men or black men between the ages of 16 and 45 in this fashion in movies anymore, even though these two demographics combined are probably responsible for greater than 50% of violent crime, and after all..the Russians are the bad guys today in almost all movies.

But I still greatly enjoyed this scene, and the movie!

Hahahahaha! When I got to the end, I loved the “I’m Mike, and I approved this message.”

LOL, great touch!

Although I did notice he skipped over the 2nd Amendment, but...”let’s not bicker about who killed whom”!

That explains what I thought was a retro move, going back to Big Russia as the crucible of all that is evil, just like during the Cold War. I would think there are quite a few black actors who would love to take some of those acting gigs.

That’s good money, and it shows recent demand.
Maybe soon, some prominent director will take the risk and show who the usual suspects really are, then other directors will follow that lead.
