When the nabobs who ran the Conservative Party tossed Mrs. Thatcher in favor of John Major, it was like going from a Rolls Royce to a broken down oxcart. He believes in nothing, had no discernable policies and earned the title of The George Bush Jr. (or Thom Tillis) of Britain.
Britain is evidently just too worn out to fight anymore. It doesn’t appear that they ever recovered from WW1 & WW2. Losing major portions of 2 generations of males has resulted in their slide into oblivion, which seems to be accelerating.
Same thing happened here after Reagan.
BTW, we spent time in the UK during Thatcher and after Thatcher.
Hubby was back again in the 2010s...

I believe that he was one of the last world leaders who never received a college degree.
