The Pledge originally said: "one nation, indivisible". The addition was the two words and another comma: "under God," not "one nation under God".
And "In God We Trust" was added to US currency in the Civil War, not the Cold War, specifically on the two-cent coin. It was added to paper currency in the Cold War mid-1950's.
