Our Hide and Speak Hero of the Week is Will Freeman, creator of dflock.org.
A few years ago, Will started noticing license plate readers going up on street corners.
Most of us would have grumbled and moved on.
Will built something instead.
It's called dflock, a free crowdsourced map of these cameras all across the country.
Today, it tracks more than 100,000 of them.
Think what that means.
Before dflock, you had no idea you were being photographed on your way to work.
Now you can pull up a map and see every camera between your house and the grocery store.
Flock sent him a cease and desist letter, but Will kept going.
And last month, he put his own name on a lawsuit challenging Boulder, Colorado's cameras after the city refused to show him the data it collected on his own car.
Will saw a problem, he built the solution, and he continues to fight back against Flock Safety's surveillance network.
And that's why Will Freeman is our Hide and Speak Hero of the Week.
