Lincoln was politically brave for pushing it.

Lincoln pushed it to try to instigate slave revolt in the Confederacy, it had nothing to to with the moral side. Note how the Proclamation only applied to the States where he had no legal authority, but he didn't touch any slaves in the North? Why not?

Because you have it backwards. He did have legal authority to do it in states that were in a state of rebellion or insurrection.

He did not have legal authority to do it in states that were not.

That would, and did, take an act of congress.

Juneteenth celebrates the abolition of slavery, which resulted from the 13th Amendment. That abolished slavery everywhere. Lincoln pushed that in January 1865 when the South was on its last legs. He didn't need a slave revolt. But the country did oppose it when he pushed it. I see nothing wrong with the ORIGINAL purpose of Juneteenth. It celebrates the end of slavery. Today the Dems have perverted it into a Woke liberal holiday and I oppose that. But I certainly support its original purpose and don't mind that.
