World Cup in Boston: Scotland causing beer shortage? Norway–Iraq game preps

With Scottish football fans in Boston, bars are saying their beer is getting drunken faster than on St. Patrick’s Day or a sports championship — the Dubliner had its biggest week ever! But first, fans of Iraq and Norway were partying ahead of Tuesday’s game, and what travel on the MBTA trains to Boston Stadium was like.

LOL. I’ve seen two stories about Scots coming to Boston for the World Cup. The first was Scots complaining about how expensive everything is and the second is that they are causing a beer shortage - both playing into the idea that Scots are cheap and drink too much.

The fact that their first and second games are both in Boston means they don’t have to travel anywhere leaving their days and nights free to imbibe.

There was a story on a Boston radio station yesterday that they ran out of Sam Adams Lager at the bar at the Boston Beer Works. This is where they brew Sam Adams beer.

Well, it was Sam Adams beer, made in Boston, so they had to go out of the city to find more.
