Lots of Old Testament quotes. But the OT cannot be understood save through the prism of the NT.

The Church IS Israel.

Lots of Old Testament quotes. But the OT cannot be understood save through the prism of the NT.

It has been my experience that those who do not understand the Old Testament do not understand the New Testament either, and those who do not believe the New Testament do not believe the Old Testament either. It has been twisted into a variety of shapes, as was prophesied by the Israelites.

The Church IS Israel.

The first church in Jerusalem, in the land of Israel, was certainly Israel. Those who hate Israel and the Jews in the Diaspora, no. They imagine they are Israel and do not listen and believe the Apostle to the Gentiles who explained the mystery of Israel.

In Romans 11:25-29 one can clearly see that "they" are Israel, that they(Israel) are enemies of the Gospel, and that one day they (Israel) will be saved in the New Covenant that was explicitly promised to the house of Israel and to the house of Judah.

For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in. And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob: For this is my covenant unto them, when I shall take away their sins. As concerning the gospel, they are enemies for your sakes: but as touching the election, they are beloved for the fathers' sakes. For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance.

Jeremiah 31:31-37
Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah: Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto them, saith the LORD: But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people. And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the LORD; for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more. Thus saith the LORD, which giveth the sun for a light by day, and the ordinances of the moon and of the stars for a light by night, which divideth the sea when the waves thereof roar; The LORD of hosts is his name: If those ordinances depart from before me, saith the LORD, then the seed of Israel also shall cease from being a nation before me for ever. Thus saith the LORD; If heaven above can be measured, and the foundations of the earth searched out beneath, I will also cast off all the seed of Israel for all that they have done, saith the LORD.

Amen, I believe.
