Vice President JD Vance is set to make his first appearance on ABC's "The View" on Wednesday, becoming just the third sitting vice president to join the daytime talk show's panel.
"It may be the optimist in me, but I just fundamentally think that most people — not everybody, but most people — even if I disagree with them, you ought to try to have a conversation with them," Vance told Fox News Digital in a sit-down interview Tuesday.
Vance will join all six co-hosts, including Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Sunny Hostin, Sara Haines, Alyssa Farah Griffin and Ana Navarro, to discuss his new book, "Communion: Finding My Way Back to Faith." His appearance comes on the heels of the Trump administration's newly reached agreement with Iran, in which the vice president played a key role in negotiations.
Asked how he was preparing for the interview, Vance said he was approaching it as an opportunity for an earnest conversation, even with people whose views differ from his own.
"My job as Vice President of the United States is not just to talk to the people who voted for me, it's to talk to the people who didn't vote for me too," said Vance.

A chair, a whip, and a 38 revolver would be a good start.
A few assistants with butterfly nets a good idea as well.
First, take some anti-biotics
He needs to steal the eye that they pass among themselves to see and hold it for ransom until they admit that Steven Colbert was fired because he was a ratings and financial disaster, not because of any pressure from Trump.
“Lions Den”?! More like a moron fest
“”A chair, a whip, and a 38 revolver would be a good start.

For sure!!!!
+1
“”it’s to talk to the people who didn’t vote for me too,”” said Vance.
Didn’t vote for him? It’s a lot more than that! People who denounce him and any Republican president and anything/everything they do? WHY sit down with them? He’ll get no accolades for doing so....
How does Christian faith relate to government responsibilities?
The View gals will bring up foreign policy. But that is Marco’s portfolio. JD’s portfolio is Domestic policy. First and foremost fighting FRAUD.
How does FRAUD relate to Catholicism, Christianity.. or for that matter Hindu, Bhuddism, Muslim, Jewish or any religion? Aren’t all religions against FRAUD?
I hope both the View gals and JD have a useful conversation rather than waste an hour of their time.
You can’t reason or debate with Leftist morons. Any conservative who appears on that idiotic program is disrespected.
Find embarrassing crap abt each of THEM and fling it as needed. Stop letting THEM dictate the debate.
Knowing most of them are wetting themselves just being in his presence should bring a smile to his face.
“have a conversation”
There is no conversation on the spew. It is angry shrieking harpies talking over each other while the clapping seals in the audience shriek. My mom watches that show. It is awful.
CHARLIE KIRK THOUGHT THE SAME.....
I watched the "hole" thing, and I am almost deaf, dumb and blind from listening to six women talking over each other in order to blot out any thing that Vance would try to answer.
Vance did try to answer, but with multiple screaming bitches, all believing that they are the most important person on the planet, he was mostly over talked.
If he sold a coupla books, OK, but any conservative that goes into that six seat out house, deserves to get shit on, because you know they will.
JD is the best spokesman we have during an ad-lib forum, where you know in advance, that it will never be fair.
I think it’s a good idea. JD is mentally nimble on his feet and is able to deflect with humor once in a while, so I think he’ll do just fine. Every proverbial chair and gooey tomato will he thrown at him by the Jurassic Squad in efforts to make him lose his cool.
Vance joins liberal co-hosts, Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Sunny Hostin, Sara Haines, Alyssa Farah Griffin and Ana Navarro, to discuss his book, “Communion: Finding My Way Back to Faith.”
Raised informally as a Christian, and later identifying as an atheist, Vance formally reconnected with Christianity and was baptized and confirmed in the Catholic Church at St. Gertrude Priory in Cincinnati, Ohio.
A crate of Claymore mines, a flame thrower, and a jerry can full of holy water might be a better idea:
