You would think so, if property rights were held in high regard as they used to be.
But, the Democrat Party has been taken over by Communist who hold property rights in disgust and abhorrence.
Anywhere that Democrats hold power is going to be a place where private property rights are not protected.
Anyone who lives in a Democrat hotspot who tries to protect their own property had better have a good lawyer on retainer.

No. It’s a testament to insane liberalism and socialism. It’s a testament to their desire to punish success and their drive to create utopia. Those state “leaderships” do this on purpose.
Doing the job local LE are not allowed to do b/c squatters are a protected class in some jurisdictions. They have as much right to live in your home as you do, according to local laws.
Or, you could do what my Eastern European neighbors do: Call 10 or so of their cousins to get the squatters out NOW and threaten to kill them if they return. And, not a one of them saw, heard or did a thing.
I’m all for using private SWAT teams to get rid of squatters, only to be available to the person whose name is on the deed or lease.
Kick the door down, taze the squatters, cuff and shackle them, haul them out into the desert about 100 miles from transportation or communications, dump their belongings with them, and leave them with water and whatever food they had in the squatted residence.
That’s the most humane way to get them out quickly.
Georgia passed anti squatter law a couple of years ago.
Sounds just like immigration.
They can be squatters in a prison cell.
Jail time + restitution for utilities.

I have gotten hooked on the TV show..reminded me that several years ago, the news here was full of “squatter” stories but I seldom see/hear of any, any longer. Must be the reason..thanks.
As pointed out in earlier posts here, the laws in the states are all over the place...Watching the show a week ago, Flash said that the state of WA had the most restrictive laws - PROTECTING THE SQUATTERS..He points out that law enforcement says it’s a civil matter and their hands are tied..the reason he got involved in what he’s doing! He’s doing it nationwide to wherever he’s needed....
I believe it was one in WA that revealed a couple who made it their life’s work to CLAIM SQUATTERS RIGHTS and had never gotten caught until he and his people came on the scene. They did everything under the sun to help the OWNERS get their property back - including hiring a sign company to unfurl a sign on the property to alert the neighbors that SQUATTERS were in the house...the squatters peeked out of the windows to watch!!!
Surprising ending - that couple found a non profit organization that PAID the homeowners the rent the squatters owed - something like $14,000 - don’t recall the exact amount - maybe more..with an agreement to begin paying XXX amount MONTHLY from then on....That’s where it ended..I guess the owner accepted the terms..there may be a followup..
Flash and his crew are always met with “get out of my house”, “I’m going to call the police”, “I’m going to call my attorney”, “we’ll see who leaves this property” and on and on....
For anyone interested, it’s on A&E Tuesday nights - 10 pm Eastern..Spectrum...It’s on right now until early evening also - didn’t know that!!

I wish they’d have a show about the 20 million Joe Biden illegal aliens “squatting “in America and Americans joining together to form an army to toss their butts back into the Rio Grande. They are running around America wearing 400 dollar Messican soccer shirts and waving Messican flags. They’re NOT AMERICANS. THEY JUST SPEND OUR TAX DOLLARS BECAUSE THEIR OWN COUNTRY WON’T SUPPORT THEM.
Based on my experience, it should be within 8 business hours. Along with a well-furnished adult male who can immediately present (to LEO) such a right, to guard against damage.

The best way to deal with squatters is to NOT involve the legal system at the outset. Handle the situation in such a way as to make your side of the story the ONLY side of the story.
I see a great business opportunity for a deaf guy. Have the rightful owner lease him a room and he just goes in there and plays “It’s a Small World” or “Achy Breaky Heart” on endless loop at a good loud volume until the squatters go walk out into the freeway or something to get away from the noise.
