Had the "music police" found out, everybody involved would be severely dealt with.
Years ago, my neighbor said that he and his wife didn’t like my music and I told him that I wasn’t playing it for them, I was playing it for me. Man, you should’ve seen the look on that guy’s face!
not so cool — it’s not an Arab town friendly to Jews. I’m glad it turned it as it did, but those musicians could just as easily been murdered.
You’d be surprised. There are Arab towns who are either neutral or openly friendly to Jews. It’s a tribal/clan thing. Luckily, this was a town of music lovers, and they had some Arabian-sounding tunes in their repertoir, which worked to break the ice. So it’s cool.
News flash! Private businesses were forbidden under Soviet law, but nobody cared and did it anyway, and slipped the local constable a few rubles to go away.
Same thing with Sharia. Palestinians, even very devout ones, enjoy music like other people. They’re not walking around with scowls wearing suicide vests all the time, just when there are MSM cameramen around, and they’ve been ordered to do it. The MSM pays the boss jihad man, the boss jihad takes half, and gives the scowly suicide vest and rock throwing guys a quarter to share amongst themselves, and sends a quarter back to the home office.
