Normally, nobody should cheer when a Wisconsin business loses its stock. Jobs, rent, suppliers, and familiar faces that sit behind every taproom door.
But Minoqua Brewing Company owner Kirk Bangstad has spent years turning beer into a vessel for political contempt, and now the state says the rules caught up with him.
Officials seized canned beer from his business, alleging Illinois-brewed beer had been brought into Wisconsin without the required permits or licenses. Bangstad said the state took about $25,000 worth after he failed to pay Wisconsin taxes on beer sold and stored at his Minocqua and Madison, Wisc. locations, as the Wausau Pilot and Review reported.

Where is the brewery in Illinois that makes beer for minaqua brand ?
I didn’t see it named but I’d bet it’s a brewery that has its own brand and just seek these a-holes some off label stuff
If you hear of a good near product to Penzy’s pico fruita let me know. They lost my business when Bill called me (not directly) names in his unhinged e-mails. Taijin isn’t it, either. I love pico fruita on honeycrisp apples (any sweet apple, really).
It IS a shame because Spotted Cow was a fave of mine, too. When we have family gatherings here, someone usually brings some, so if there are ‘leftovers’ I squirrel away a bottle for myself, LOL! Hey! *I* didn’t contribute to her success...is what I tell myself as I fall asleep happy. ;)
Re: Penzey’s. When the parents passed, they split the business between two of their kids that wanted it. The Daughter runs the original business, ‘The Spice House’ out of Milwaukee, which is where I shop. She never talks politics and appears to be a good business woman. The brother (Bill? Penzey) is a total whack job. I haven’t shopped with him in a decade, now.
I had to find a sub for the ‘Sunny Paris’ mix from Penzey’s. The Spice House has ‘Lakeshore Shallot & Herb’ and it is a great substitute! I also really like their ‘English Prime Rib Rub’ on chops and steaks...and the ONE Prime Rib I’ve been able to afford in my lifetime, LOL!

100% Certifiable. And mean-spirited. In other words, a classic Socialist Democrat, LOL!
Karma can be a beotch. 😆
