“The reason why those Americans in North Carolina, those mothers, those fathers, those precious little children, were left to die begging their government for help that never came is because Dems turned FEMA into an illegal alien resettlement agency.”

This is:

The United States Deputy Chief of Staff for Policy and Homeland Security Advisor, Stephen Miller:

“The reason why those Americans in North Carolina, those mothers, those fathers, those precious little children, were left to die begging their government for help that never came is because the Democrats turned FEMA into an illegal alien resettlement agency.”

Meaning:

The Democrats said FEMA had NO money and left fathers to die in Maui.

The Democrats said FEMA had NO money and left mothers to die in East Palestine, Ohio.

The Democrats said FEMA had NO money and left children to die in North Carolina.

BUT FEMA had an extra $1 BILLION to spend on illegals, including Social Security, Medicaid, SNAP, and voter registration.

And, as a bonus, they complain that Elon Musk is now a trillionaire.

“And they’ll take the senate seat.”

You are 100% correct based on the race today. The GOP candidate, Michael Whatley remains mostly invisible while former governor Roy Cooper’s face is all over social media and television.

Whatley was Trump’s choice for this Senate seat so maybe he will conduct a couple of rallies in the state to motivate the MAGA crowd and get Whatley a little press. Meanwhile time is slipping by and it is clear Whatley isn’t going to fire up the crowd.

Affordability will be a key issue in NC in November. If inflation is still running over 4%, other GOP races will be in trouble.

How are people there doing? I followed the story for quite a while and I know it was bad, but coverage went away.

“The Congress shall have power to dispose of and make all needful rules and regulations respecting the territory or other property belonging to the United States....”

ARTICLE IV., SECTION 3.

Congress under Amendment XVI can take your income and have Leroy throw it into the back of a Waste Management truck, or give it to his sister, or her doctor.

Doesn't that citation in Article IV just spell out that Congress (as opposed to the President or Judges or other authorities) have the responsibility to legislate concerning Federally owned property? What does that have to do with disaster relief?

And no, the 16th amendment does not expand what the federal government can spend money on. It just authorizes collection of an income-based tax. What that money can be spent on should still be circumscribed by the text of the Constitution as a whole.

I hold anyone who puts their safety and that of their loved ones in the hands of the federal government in even greater contempt.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>.
No doubt there are people worthy of contempt for the reason you’ve stated, but I would wager the majority of victims were men, women, and children who were simply incapable, mentally and/or physically of dealing with the situation. You may be convinced that you’ll never have a need to rely on government to ensure your safety, but history and current events have confirmed countless times that you’re mistaken.

The English philosopher Thomas Hobbes accurately stated that human life in the state of nature, i.e., without governance would be one of “continual fear and danger of violent death; and the life of man, solitary, poor, nasty, brutish, and short.” See his famous book Leviathan published in 1651.

Yeah. States and counties should really do this. Reduce federal taxes, reallocate that money to local authorities.

Then there is the problem of poor states and counties. We are all Americans, in need of each other.

That one employee hardly cancels out billions in FEMA funding for North Carolina and Hawaii.

1 Minute Video TRANSCRIPT BEGINS~~~

Stephen Miller: ....this country has ever seen.

The reason why those Americans in North Carolina, those mothers, those fathers, those precious little children, were left to die, were left on rooftops, begging.... begging their government for help that never came is because Kamala Harris turned FEMA into an illegal alien resettlement agency.

It's manpower, it's dollars, it's resources, it's mental energy was spent over the last four years learning how to do one thing: how to get illegal aliens from outside the country into your town.  And so when disaster struck they were not ready; they were not prepared; they were not capable; and they did not care.

Our citizens including babies, children, kids were left to suffer and drown. They did not scramble the helicopters. They did not scramble the military. They did not send needed assistance.

But if those children had been living in a foreign country, they'd been living in Haiti, or they'd been living in Venezuela, why then Kamala Harris would have sent in help immediately. A betrayal like we've never seen before, Sean. This is infuriating.

Even the police cannot keep you safe. It is well established legal doctrine that the government has no duty to provide for your safety. If it has no obligation to do so, why would anyone rely on it? FEMA is an acrostic for Federal Emergency Management Agency. Do you get the management part? No where does it say safety.

The fact that billions of dollars spent by FEMA annually, and in this example had measurable impact, along with other well known instances of failure shows the wisdom of not relying on government. Fortunately we had Jefferson as a Founding Father and not Hobbes who favored an absolutely powerful monarch.

Leviathan is a cautionary tale to all who would trade their freedom for safety.

Nothing like taking TWO YEARS to dole out money to recover from an emergency from an agency called EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT.

The criticism directed towards FEMA is their lack of help and direction in the immediate aftermath of a hurricane.
