“There is nothing more painful to me at this stage in my life than to walk down the street and hear footsteps ... then turn around and see somebody white and feel relieved.”

From a 1993 address to inner-city youth by Rev. Jesse Jackson.

In any shopping mall or city shopping area we shouldn’t have to assess our survival chances and our children’s survival based on such things.

But we have to.

Black families are also crouching in terror and trying to cover the children when they hear gunshots. Along with white and Asian and Hispanic people.

Soft on crime doesn’t work, Dems and judges. It hurts us all.

The Greenville County Solicitor (prosector) is Cindy Crick and is known for being pretty tough on criminals and prosecuting them hard. I can’t speak to the judges and their sentences, but I don’t think Greenville County has a problem with being “soft on crime”.

You can’t stop crime. All you can do is make sure that criminals are convicted and serve long sentences.
