I was raised in Mississippi in the late 50's and 60's. I mistakenly thought that after the Civil Rights era things would be a lot better. Instead they have gotten worse. Something strange happened in the 2008-2016 timeframe. I wonder what it was? Check this out: https://revolver.news/2026/06/the-percentage-of-black-males-who-will-murder-someone-before-turning-50-will-astound-you/

Well, in fairness, the information that accompanies that graph indicates that the number of black men who are convicted of at least one felony during their lifetime is 34%, but that the number of black men who murder someone during their lifetime is less than 5%.

So the vast majority of black men who are convicted of a felony never murder anyone, although I grant you that both those numbers are far, far higher than the comparable statistics for other ethnic groups in the United States.

Stated another way, the murdering is done by a small percentage of those involved with the justice system during their lifetime.

I could be interpreting those statistics wrongly, I admit.

Yes one has to wonder if it was only a training issue like teaching a dog to fetch?.
