Machine Gun Kelly reveals scary side effects after covering body in 'near impossible' blackout tattoos

Machine Gun Kelly has revealed his skin turned yellow after rushing to finish his blackout tattoos.

The rapper, real name Colson Baker, said he decided to get the full blackout tattoo after looking in the mirror and seeing a mishmash of tattoos, some from periods of his life he’d rather forget about.

So, he decided to enlist the help of celebrity tattoo artist ROXX who came up with a ‘dark mode’ tattoo that covers most of his arm, chest, and stomach in solid black ink.

But says he was left feeling unwell after refusing to take it slow and steady when it came to getting inked.

Speaking to Billboard Canada, MGK revealed that ROXX had told him that it’d likely take ‘two years’ to complete the large-scale design, but said he wasn’t willing to wait.

Seems like it would be better to just have them removed by laser.

I can’t help but feel that tattoo ink, in that quantity, is carcenogenic. Think of the amount of body defense mechanisms being brought into play combatting that “foreign” material introduced. And it must have HURT to have it injected, too.

What if tattoos suddenly went out of style?

I don’t even wear the same WATCH for a month in a row. I cannot imagine looking at my arm and seeing the same drawing for 50 years.

Are Tattoos Really Going Out of Style?
Tattoos haven’t disappeared from fashion, but they have shifted in style, perception, and cultural context, which some people interpret as them “going out of style.”

Mainstream saturation and oversaturation
In the past two decades, tattoos went from a niche, rebellious symbol to a near-universal body modification. This has led to a sense of sameness — when everyone has the same designs, they lose their uniqueness. As one commentator put it, “having no tattoos” is now a new kind of statement The Urban Crews.

Celebrity influence and removals
High-profile figures like Pete Davidson and Pamela Anderson have publicly removed tattoos, which some see as a sign of the trend’s decline. These cases are often cited in viral discussions, but they also reflect personal style changes rather than a wholesale rejection of tattoos Newsweek.

Economic and lifestyle factors
Rising living costs and inflation-adjusted wage stagnation mean many people delay or skip tattoos altogether. A short delay in getting one can set a person on a path to never getting one Bored Panda. This economic pressure is affecting all creative industries, including tattooing Reddit.

Trend cycles and minimalism
Tattoo styles come and go — from bold, large designs to fine-line, discreet ink. Minimalism in fashion and personal aesthetics has pushed some toward “pristine skin” over body art The Urban Crews. Artists note that mass-produced designs, especially those copied from celebrities, can date quickly Glam.

Generational shifts
Millennials were the most tattooed generation, but Gen Z is introducing new aesthetics like patchwork and fine-line work, which may appeal to younger audiences but differ from older-school styles Bored Panda. This generational change can make some older designs feel outdated.

Bottom line
Tattoos aren’t disappearing, but they’re evolving — smaller, more aesthetic, and often tied to personal meaning rather than mass appeal. Whether they’re “cool” depends on the individual and the style. For many, tattoos remain a valid form of self-expression, but the cultural conversation around them is shifting toward subtlety, individuality, and relevance to current trends Bored Panda+2.

If I were to get a tattoo, it might be the following across my chest...

∫ F ( b ) - F ( a ) = ∫ f ( x ) d x

Tats and piercings. They are not beauty enhancements ladies.

I asked a Home Depot girl for the location of something and when she turned towards me , she had a face full of metal , several in her nose, her eyebrows and lips.
I averted my gaze, wtf was that ?

Pinhead from the Hellraiser horror flicks ?

It’s amazing the amount of once really good looking womenz who screw their looks up with that crap. It’s like a psycho, ogical desire to make themselves ugly for whatever reason.

There was a rich tech guy on TV saying he had his full-arm tattoos removed.

It cost more than $200,000.

I guess he no longer felt like they were good for his image as a CEO.

Good for him, but it would have been much better if he hadn’t caved to his previous desire to spruce up his image.

Meanwhile, the kids who admired his look and wanted to emulate it don’t have 200k to blow, so they’re stuck with their tattoos.

**Living life to be cool? A friend tried to get me to start smoking because it was “cool” to do at that age. I never acquiesced and he now has heart disease and cancer.**

‘Cool’ is an overused term, and even unrealistic most of the time. Being a late-bloomer, I didn’t even try to be ‘cool’. Nothing I could do would get the attention of attractive females. But when my late-blooming self finally matured, I still didn’t smoke, rarely had a drink of alcohol, didn’t cuss, and certainly had no tats.

I was tall and fit, decent looking, and a good conversationist. I was always looking to meet the prettiest chick wherever I went. And one night the prettiest chick in the place was the one that ended my search.

Out of our 52 members of the HS senior class of 1972 (yep, small town), 17 are gone (AFAIK); 13 were heavy smokers.

So it would be integral to how you want to be represented in public? How would anyone be able to differentiate between you and anyone else?

Yes OT rules were to separate the Hebrews from others; no, not all OT rules are just tossed out.

“23 Everything is permissible, but not everything is helpful. Everything is permissible, but not everything builds up.” (1 Cor 10:23, ISV)

(wrote a bunch after, but you’re bright, you can discern between “must” and “may,” or else ten paragraphs won’t help).

God says don’t do it. That is enough for me.

Likely also in anticipation of occult sigils and the future ‘mark’ of the Beast allegiances.

That and also the ink is now known to accumulate in the lymph nodes. The skin is the largest organ of the body, not sure how anything good could be the result years down the road.

And sometimes tattoos done while in the military can still indicate a lowlife. e.g. Platner.

Platner's Totenkopf tattoo would have been justified only if he had been an actual member of, say, the Waffen S.S. - and maybe even of an Einsatzgruppe ("mop-up crew" who followed along behind the front lines and "eliminated" the Jews they could find).
