I have never owned a Chrysler product. Drove many Fiat products - the Alfa Guiletta is a hot little four door hatchback with a lot of get-up-and-go. But Italian autos have always had reliability issues. Is that still the case?
We owned a 75 FIAT X1/9. Beautiful car.
I spent more time under it than I did in it............
I had a ‘78 Fiat 131 that was a barn burner great mid sized sedan for the first 25 thousand miles. Then the dealer did a tune up and ruined the valves. Trid to get it fixed for three months then traded it and never would I look at another Italian car.
The issue you have when buying something like an Alfa is how do you get it serviced?. If you live in a large metro area like Chicago, odds are there is an Alfa dealer somewhere in the metro area. While out on a walk a few years ago, I asked a neighbor how he serviced his R7 Audi since there are no Audi dealers in Champaign, Il. He takes it to Indianapolis. We have no Infinity dealers in town. Nissan will change the oil and rotate the tires, but warranty work has to be done at an Infinity dealer.
