Country superstar Garth Brooks eyes possible $2BILLION deal for his music catalog - the biggest deal for a single artist

Garth Brooks is one of the biggest names in country music with 20 songs topping the Billboard charts and a career that has spanned over three decades.

And now, the superstar, 64, is reportedly eyeing a possible $2 billion deal for his impressive music catalog, as reported by the Wall Street Journal on Tuesday.

The sale would consist of Brooks's songwriting and recorded music rights.

The singer-songwriter has reportedly been in talks with investors, with valuations for his discography ranging between $1 billion and over $2 billion.

If the deal goes through, it will be the largest for a solo artist in history – beating out even the $1.2 billion valuation of pop icon Michael Jackson's catalog.

Throughout his 36-year career Brooks has sold more than 200 million units in the United States alone, per the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).

His life's work has seen him collect a Kennedy Center Honor, two Grammy Awards, and the Library of Congress Gershwin Prize.

His most famous songs include the 1990 blue-collar anthem Friends in Low Places, The Dance (1990), The Thunder Rolls (1991) and the 2007 chart topper More Than a Memory.

Junior Brown:
Highway Patrol.
My wife thinks you’re dead.

Hell of a picker.
And his wife is the backup guitar picker.

I don’t know why anyone would pay $2 billion for Garth’s music catalog at this point. Maybe 20 years ago but now? Not even close.

Garth needs the money? I thought he is already worth $300 million. Is he jealous of Taylor Swift’s income? How much is enough? These people are pretty sick and don’t live in the real world.

What happened to the sexual assault/rape allegations against Garth? I see that’s been tied up in court for over two years now. Maybe he’s going to need some more money for a few payoffs to make everything go away.

You could say that for just about anybody who collects money. We have a lot of politicians business people, entertainers, musicians, sports personalities, influencers, and many others who are addicted to adding to their net worth.

While not directly his fault I will still blame him for ruining modern country music.

He created modern country music, which is what ruined country music.

Yes but it’s not directly his fault that a lot of people followed his lead/ copied his style.

What about the ongoing speculation that Garth is a serial killer? Some guy wrote a book about it. Apparently Garth is somewhat well, unstable. He created an alter ego named Chris Blaine that looks like some kind of gothic Emo character. You would never guess its Garth Brooks. He would never admit that its him.

The guy that wrote the book did all this research about all of Garth’s whereabouts for years and overlaid all the missing and murdered people in each area at the time Brooks was there. Its a little spooky. There’s talk that he’s got a bunch of bodies buried on his large estate outside Nashville. 😉

Country music today should be called Cracker Rap. I don’t recognize the new style as CW.

You might hear “Friends In Low Places” sometimes, but that’s about it.
